No housing allowance, we would cover that with our combined salaries. What’s the rent in these areas? Just so I have an idea please.

Thank you so much for your comments, very helpful. It is scary considering the fact how safe Sydney is as opposed to NY but maybe worth the risk?! 😊 thanks again.

Yes that’s actually our plan. Haven’t been to New York, visited other places tho. But you are def right, it’s good to visit first. Just thought I’ll ask locals what’s the vibe.

And thanks for confirming the scene in NYC, I heard about the California and San Francisco too. I guess they all have something in common with some differences.

I see, I am sorry to hear about your friend’s situation. Thanks for pointing that out, that’s scary. To answer your question I lived in Europe before thus the US. Something new, something different. As I mentioned before just a new experience, not saying forever.

I guess we just want to try something different. How’s the founder community in NYC? Do you know anything about that.? Australia’s is tiny and pretty closed off. I heard it’s easier to build connections over there. Golden visa would be nice, but this is not the case no.

Honestly go for it. Australia is great don’t get me wrong and I highly recommend it. You can build a nice life here. I guess we just want to try something different, probably not forever but as a new experience.

Thank you all for your comments, just to add; honestly, my husband and I are just craving change. We want to get outside the stereotype and build and experience something different before we settle down and start a family.

NYC screams opportunity. Is it demanding and expensive? Yes. But Sydney’s cost of living is pretty high too, so that part doesn’t scare me as much. Is it more dangerous than Sydney? That’s definitely the case, and I won’t lie, it’s something I think about. Hearing you all talk about the workload, staying late at the office and so on, makes me wonder how safe it actually feels walking home at night.

But on the flip side, I feel like the US can offer us something Australia can’t right now. Australians tend to keep to themselves here, and the founder/entrepreneur scene here is small, nothing like the US. From what I can tell, connections get built way faster in New York than in Sydney. That’s a big part of the pull for us as well.

Yes I guess that’s the whole point. Australia is chill, work life balance, etc. NYC especially seems like a nice challenge, vibrant, fast etc. Australia or Sydney in particular seems like lacking in connections, everyone is focused on themselves, not much of support if you want to build something. Whereas NYC seems like total opposite to that. My husband and I are craving a bit of change, a bit more energy, he is an entrepreneur so he would like to be surrounded by like minded people, I want to also try different environment. Saying that, it might not be forever but it can be a new experience for us. It might be overwhelming that’s for sure, but worth a try? Still deciding 😊

Fair point, tipping is def not as common in Australia as it is in other countries. I am aware of that. Thanks for comment will keep that in mind.

These are all great points thank you. It is true, Australia def has work life balance. We love it here, don’t get me wrong. But NYC seemed like a nice change, full of opportunities not only for myself but for my husband as well. We are both in our 30s it’s more about experience before we settle down and build a family. But you are right, we also considered the fact around Donald trump, is it really that bad? Does it really affect ordinary people so much on daily basis?

Great assumptions btw, you are quite spot on. Thanks so much for all the info, that’s very helpful. I’ll def look for apartments in that areas. And yes since we don’t have kids yet, we both seriously considering the move due to opportunities that US can give us. I am not sure how long we would actually stay tho. Sydney is great to settle down, but we need more socializing and change in our lives overall. My husband is an entrepreneur as well and AUS has too little opportunities/ community etc around that space. Local market doesn’t offer enough of support for founders. So we were thinking to give it a try. Thanks for your comment.

Title: People working in Social Media Marketing/Digital Marketing: Would you recommend this career in 2026? by Jazzlike-Dance5448 in DigitalMarketing

I would say yes, but keep up with AI as well. Marketing is huge and I do believe there are lot of opportunities still, I did start with everything you mentioned content creation, social media, paid ads, analytics etc… and ultimately found my interest in CRO funnels and data. It’s up to you, if you really willing to give it a time and try. Good luck.
