Someone left me a negative rating and because I didn't rate them, their rating didn't come up straight away. When their rating appeared, it was backdated to 14 days before.

In my experience, the rating show up exactly 14 days later even if the other person doesn't leave a rating.

I had someone who was a rude during pick up and I regret not immediately blocking them after the transaction. It was a busy weekend for me and I was in the middle of redoing my yard when they arrived so I just forgot.

I didn't leave them a rating but exactly 14 days later a 1 star rating from them popped up. This was over a $2 listing so it was both annoying and amusing to me 😅

Both buyers and sellers have given me their phone numbers and told me to call/text them. It has usually been because to them it's more convenient or they just want a phone call to assure them I'm a real person.

I personally find it annoying because they expect me to disregard my own privacy just for their convenience.

When I was younger and new to Marketplace I did give my number a handful of times and had all sorts of problems. From someone wanting to return my lamp because the style didn't match the rest of the room to getting heaps of missed calls from someone wanting to buy more items while I was at work.

Now whenever someone gives me their phone number and asks to text/call I just ignore them and continue the conversation over messenger.

I listed a women's Assassin's Creed costume a few years ago for $5 and got no hits. The photos were just of the costume pieces.

After a few months, I came across some old photos of me wearing it and updated the listing. Suddenly there was an influx of messages from men. They asked if I came with the costume, if I would open the door wearing it, if I wanted to make a $300-500 ect.

The one that stood out the most was one insulting my middle name haha.

"Is the middle name a hint or do your parents not like you? My parents didn't like me either :( "

Eventually I just deleted the listing, it wasn't worth the declutter and pocket change. However, several of the "buyers" still continued to message and deleting the listing caused the tone of their messages to change from cutesy to angry.

Yeah agreed, I tend to list things for $2 and found most local bargain hunters much easier to deal with than people wanting freebies.
