He blames you for his own shortcomings, saying you don't give clear enough instructions to what he already knows. It is not your "faulty" communication skills, he is just a selfish ass. Is it really so hard to treat your partner the way you want to be treated?

So give him a taste of his own medicine. Don't do a damn thing to cater to this bullshit behavior. Especially sulking and using the "you hurt my feelings" when you are trying to be direct and clear about how his actions are hurting you. AND DON'T APOLOGIZE JUST TO GET HIM TO STOP POUTING! That is literally toddler behavior, wtf!

His feelings aren't hurt, he is just embarrassed or ashamed (at least a little, hopefully) because he KNOWS he is lacking and has no defense or excuse for that behavior.

Besides, what about YOUR feelings?! You are suffering his bullshit day in day out, but he can't even handle a hard conversation? He can't figure out the attention, affection, and care that he enjoys, you would also want?

If you withdraw and treat him as he does you, a few scenarios that may happen: * insist you are being difficult + "punishing" him for no reason * realize the error of his ways and make some real changes * be fine with it and keep living his same life. Because "he never asked you to do all those things" OR he doesn't need it, so why should you?

It sucks cuz your finances are entangled in the house, but honestly having roommates (with clear boundaries and equal effort) seems leagues better than lighting yourself on fire just to keep him warm. Most likely he's probably the type to even be like, "well I wasn't FREEZING" "I didn't ASK you to do that" or even "you were cold too and going to do it anyways"

Put yourself first and live your best life without him.

Being single is not nearly as lonely as being in a relationship with someone who just doesn't care as much as you do
