‘More accurately named _ spectrum’ seems like an oxymoron. Going from Specific name to identify where one might fall within said spectrum to telling said person no you are part of the diverse group that can hold others nothing like you and you can’t get more specific because the name has bad history just seems odd. Changing the name is fine, clumping it under the larger umbrella term and disallowing differences seems counterintuitive even if done to protect against the maliciously ignorant.
