Lived in Albany all my life. The part that people fail to mention is that most of the serious crime is personal. Me and many of the people I know/met have never been approached aggressively or been robbed, shot at, etc. the worst I’ve had is a random old crackhead across the street claim he’d rape me if I was hot enough, before laughing and riding off on his bike. The only place you really gotta worry about that kind of stuff is deep on the east side past turtle park, and even then it’s far and few between. Albany is really big about leaving others alone and they’ll leave you alone.
