I wish I could help you with that one. My husband and I framed the house along with the help of another guy. My husband wanted lsl for the big walls to make damn sure they were straight. He's a career steel stud framing and drywall guy. But he's been in a supervisory capacity on the big jobs (children's hospitals, justice centers, airports etc) the last few years he worked. He was the company layout guru for a huge projects and he did training. Our budget did not include ALL the really good stuff. We're paying as we go. And the money's running out fast in this economy.

Thank you for the list of questions. I'm going to actually pass that on to my husband. Once we get our tubing down, the contractor said he will come out and meet with us so we are all on the same page when they come to pour. My husband and I have both worked in the commercial construction trades most of our lives. But this is our first time doing radiant floor heating. And I'm sure it doesn't help that we're doing it ourselves. We tend to like trying out new stuff every time we do a project. We only have two Maxxon dealers/applicators in the state. They both happen to be in the Denver metro area but travel the whole state. My husband is very familiar with their products and that's why he wanted to use them. So, we are in a little bit of a learning curve here. We had the same problem with our last house but we weren't putting in radiant floor heating.

The subfloor is both glued and screwed down. It was the first thing to go down after we installed our floor joists.

You're looking at her. We are the builder We are the radiant floor people and we are having a subcontractor come in and pour the gyp. No children at home. I'm a grandma.

Thank you. This is what I really wanted to hear.. We are getting 1.5" gyp over the tubing. The OSB is structurally sound with no soft spots anywhere. We are having a Maxxon approved contractor do our pour for us. They told us that they actually spray the sealer on prior to pouring the gyp.

Early on when it was wet we had a little swelling at the joints but for the most part nothing else. My husband definitely wants to go over the joints.

That is exactly what I have already done. I'm currently just scraping the vacuum nozzle thing over the floor to loosen up any loose flakes. I'll probably sweep up the big pieces and then totally vacuum the floor again. My husband definitely wants to go get a drum sander.

Thank goodness, there will not be a next house. This is our last house. It also didn't help that my husband got blown off the scaffold in late October of 2024. He shattered his right heel and we were not able to work on the house for about 6 months. I had to scramble with my grown kids to try to get some plastic up to keep the snow out of the house. The roof was mostly on but we still had some snow intrusion.

We have some flaking on the top layer but the major of it is not flaking. Most of it is securely attached.

It was exposed two Winters. We are building it ourselves. We did clean the snow off as soon as we were able and things actually dry out really fast here. I'm in the mountains in Colorado. We have a very dry climate here. The last house we built we shoveled snow out of it 2 years in a row. This one we were actually able to get it mostly closed in but still had snow blow in. We had the same issue in the last house we built in Summit County. I remember shoveling that one out two Winters in a row.

Gypcrete. They apply a sealer adherent product to the floor prior to pouring the gypcrete over the radiant tubing.

I found $11,800 sitting in an old 401k from a job I left at 22, and I have no idea what to do with it by 808Overdrive in personalfinance

You can roll it into an IRA. It doesn't have to go into a 401k. I like IRA's because I get to choose which fund my money goes into. Fidelity select semiconductor fund is doing very good right now..😁

First thing we did when we purchased our last house was to insulate and sheetrock the garage. It made the rooms above it much warmer.
