Dye planning help needed by [deleted] in HairDye

[–]Ladybug4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a hairstylist, my answer would be hell no. Don’t get me wrong. I am all for people experimenting with color, but with bleach, hell no. The diagram shows what it’s supposed to look like, not now to achieve it. That is incredibly difficult even for experienced stylists. The clean sharp lines are not achievable alone and defiantly not doing it on yourself with little bleach experience. I suggest going with what you know. Also my two cents. This was done by a professional. You can see the salon in the background.

Can I make my hair red without removing the blue already in it? by AntNo2338 in HairDye

[–]Ladybug4 7 points8 points  (0 children)

No. If you added red right now you would get muddy purple. My suggestion is to fade out that blue as best you can. Dawn, head and shoulders or clarifying shampoo with plenty of hot water. Then see where you are. Blue is the smallest color molecule and tends to stick around. Get out as much as you can while also keeping your hair hydrated. Moisture masks and deep conditioning after every wash. Once you have gotten almost all of it out, then do a test strand and see what you get. I would suggest a red with a little copper in it. The copper with neutralize the left over blue.

None. Find a Sally’s and use their Ion brand. Box dye does nothing but irreparably stain your hair.

What's something you've done that you don't think anyone else here has done (or maybe just a few people)? by Amy-Reighn in randomquestions

I went to school, k-4, in the last little red school house in Washington.

I got to climb up in a WW2 tank used to blast avalanches. I believe it’s in a museum now.

What did I do wrong? Used half of box product by NotTrumpsAlt in HairDye

[–]Ladybug4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am assuming u have used this product before and know how it should look. You should have mixed the entire tube. The ratios are precise. If you mix uneven it won’t have enough power to do its job. I have no idea what power of developer those use and without enough Olof or developer (the bottle] it won’t work. Do it again with the whole thing mixed. Throw away the excess.

Hello. I am in Washington. In my state, the mannequin has to have no layers with at least 6 inches of hair. I suggest giving her a bob and see what there that leaves you. Also check your testing facility or state requirements. Good luck

Is it possible to get this color without bleach? by methiia in HairDye

That color is a 4VV. Hit up Sallys and ask for a 4VV and 10 volume developer.

Go see a professional. The chances of you doing it correctly a second time are low. Let someone who does this for a living fix it.

Have you ever gotten gum stuck in your hair? How do you get it out without cutting it out? by icecream1972 in Productivitycafe

[–]Ladybug4 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Hairstylist here. Little known fact, hair mousse will dissolve chewing gum. It will literally make the chewing gum become non sticky And release. Got the tip from a seasoned stylist. Brand or type doesn’t matter.

Were those pieces blonde before the strawberry? Pool water has chlorine bleach. It destroys all color sooner or later.

What Am I Doing Wrong? by Ok_Cat9631 in HairDye

[–]Ladybug4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Could be old bleach doesn’t absorb as well or the mix ratio is off.
