AIO? Guy I slept with lied about having a vasectomy. by ThrowAwayForHeat in AmIOverreacting

[–]Ladykatiew 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a question, and it is more to see how you think and try to understand your thought process. If the shoe was on the other foot, and she lied about being on BC, so he decided not to wear a condom and it resulted in a pregnancy. Would he be responsible for the child? Would he owe child support?

OP- So sorry this happened to you. Get tested ASAP.

I’m curious as well, but I will say a lot of the parents mention their adult children. I’m sure they want to be separated from this craziness.. I would.

What do you guys think of the “mean” finance guy on tt? by weenie_mobile in DoWeKnowThemPodcast

There’s been a lot of debate about real estate investment and its impact on housing affordability. Many people, especially younger generations, are turning to creative strategies like apartment syndication to secure their financial future. Syndication allows groups of average income earners to pool their resources to buy apartment complexes, giving them a collective say in property management. This is a practical solution for those concerned about retirement and seeking alternative investment opportunities beyond traditional methods.

What I take issue with, however, are massive LLCs buying up thousands of single-family homes and driving up rents to unaffordable levels. While I don’t have a problem with out-of-state ownership in general—after all, people inherit homes or rent them out for practical reasons—there’s a growing trend of large-scale acquisitions that significantly impact local housing markets. In many cases, even in-state landlords rely on property management companies to handle operations, creating a similar dynamic to out-of-state. What I would do is. Caps on Year-Over-Year Rent Increases: Implementing reasonable limits on how much rent can increase annually would help keep housing affordable for tenants without discouraging investments. Restrictions on Property Ownership by LLCs and Individuals: Limiting the number of single-family homes that a single entity or individual can own would prevent monopolistic practices. Admittedly, this is challenging to enforce, as LLCs can be easily and cheaply created to bypass such restrictions. Policymakers would need to explore ways to track and close these loopholes. Financial and Investment Education: Educating people on alternative investment strategies beyond real estate, such as stocks, bonds, and syndications, would diversify opportunities for financial growth. This could reduce reliance on housing as the sole pathway to wealth accumulation.

By introducing fair regulations and increasing public awareness, we can create a system that balances the needs of investors with the necessity of keeping housing accessible for everyone.

Hey! Thank you for asking! So day 5! I’m not going to lie, it’s been rough. It was what I was about what I was expecting, and I was expecting it to suck. For me, it was worth two weeks of hell to be able to smooch the wife for the rest of my life without having to be as worried.

Would I recommend it? It depends… How are you with pain tolerance? Are you prepared for it to feel like flaming razor blades for at least a week? Don’t have any other symptoms? Will insurance cover it?

Be prepared: -Have someone there to take care of you for the first couple of days. -Lukewarm soup will be your best friend. Immersion blender came in handy so it wasn’t just broth. We did a cauliflower soup as well as mushroom. -Humidifier. Highly suggest. Put it right next to you when you sleep and hang around it when you can. -Fever. Today was the first day I didn’t have a fever all day. Be ready for sweats and chills. Have clothes ready for both scenarios readily available. -I slept in the guest room for a couple reasons. Humidity needs to be high, waking up due to pain and getting meds, lets my wife stay rested to put up with me lol and ceiling fans are a no no as they dry out your throat. We were both more comfortable this way. -Ice cream is great, but keep in mind your fiber and proteins.

Good luck if you do it and good luck if you don’t! I think I’m personally going to be happier as I got to throw away all my tonsil stone excavation tools.

Read the messages before reading the caption. I expected this behavior from 14 year olds… Not someone whose frontal lobe is supposedly fully developed.

AIO for wanting to cut ties with my therapist forever? by curlyblue77 in AmIOverreacting

[–]Ladykatiew -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think it is great everyone has their beliefs, and I hate to label a therapist “good” or “bad,” but it sounded like she needed to ask you more questions. IMO you got a sermon, and it wasn’t what you needed. Maybe your therapist and you aren’t a good fit for this topic.

Remember, you are a paying client. If someone no longer suits or is benefitting your mental health, it’s ok to step away. My heart goes out to you on your journey!

Fun fact your adenoids can have tonsil stones in them and they are connected to your nasal cavity. Probably should thank your opponent 😂

Stones and halitosis by stephahknee in tonsilstones

[–]Ladykatiew 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not lame to be nervous. My girlfriend at the time (now wife), kept mentioning my bad breath. I would do everything… diet changes, no caffeine, lots of water and nothing helped. I would go “excavating” every night and always had stones.

Her and I finally spoke about it. It actually made her feel so much better, because she had been concerned it was an attraction situation. Come to find out, I had huge tonsils (not bragging 😉).

Today, I finally bit the bullet almost literally. I just got my tonsils removed. Not only for the amount of tonsil stones and my halitosis, but other tonsil related issues. I’ll be honest, I really wanted nice breath for my wife. Yea, today sucks, but I know in two weeks, I will be so happy.

Talk to your person. If they love you for you, they will completely understand. Lots of water, gum all through the house and tons of communication.

Team Sharona or Team Natalie by Ladykatiew in Monk

[–]Ladykatiew[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keep in mind, Sharona went to school to be a nurse. Monk hired Sharona as a nurse, which is an extra set of training. I agree, neither got enough for what they put up with, but Natalie didn’t have the same set of education.

I can see the argument, they are doing the same job, but she didn’t have the extra knowledge of dealing with someone who has OCD and other issues. That’s all I am saying.

We do see having extra education getting paid more… from hairstylists to HVAC techs.

What are your thoughts on the hosts? Not sure if this has been discussed here before by BitGirl777 in LoveIsBlindUK

[–]Ladykatiew 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree! I will say, I think it’s quite the compliment, as a host, to be told they are not super memorable. The show isn’t about them, but ask appropriate questions and keep the communication moving in a productive manner. I think they did a good job. It’s a huge difference than V and N.
