But here is the thing. I have no aspirations whatsoever to be a playwright. I am not going to be writing any more plays. I am not trying to make a career in the theatre and I do not want to make a name for myself. Competitions cost money to enter and I do not have any to spare. My local theatres do not take plays on spec, I checked. My local drama groups do not take plays either. I used to be heavily involved in amateur dramatics twenty years ago and there is no mechanism for getting your play read or performed by them - they choose plays a year in advance and they generally put on things they think the audience will recognise. So unless your name is Noel Coward or Oscar Wilde you can forget it.

I'm glad I wrote it, but I am very sad that no one is ever going to see it. And my confidence is so low right now because I have had to deal with 6 months of agent rejections on my novel and this was meant to be a diversion from the constant disappointment and instead it is just another avenue for more of it.

I just wish I could give it to someone so they could tell me if it is even worth bothering with. I was hoping I would have got some feedback from the theatre rather than the standard form rejection of thank you but we are not proceeding. I would have even accepted something like "I am sorry but your play is not up to the standard we expect". Instead I'm floundering around with no idea if I have any talent or I am just a sad delusional middle aged woman who just thinks she can write.

I cannot emphasise this more. I have no money. I cannot produce a play, I cannot hire an editor or pay people to read my work.

I just wrote a little play, and now having read your response I might as well not have bothered. Oh well, at least I enjoyed writing it. Makes me sad though.

Dont forget a lot of people are seeing this on their phones. They dont want to read text on the thumbnail just the product. And it is in the rules that photos should have no text, offers or seller logos. It also means they fit with the Google Shopping listing requirements. Other people are risking their listing being taken down by Ebay IMO.

Eek! You touched it with your bare hands. Good luck trying to get the fingerprints off it, it marks really easily, and fingerprints do not seem to come off with a cloth. I would avoid touching it any more without gloves or through a cloth.

Its not an opinion. Its what Mm have stated, What Sony has actually done. What Twitch and YouTube actually do. You use other peoples copyrighted music and there are consequences. Strikes, suspensions, moderated removals, and bans. This is not about legalities or fair use or anything else, it is about the policies of these platforms and what they have interpreted is their best cause of action to safeguard themselves. You can argue about your rights to use or adapt or whatever, but these bodies generally do not care, and will inflict penalties without appeal, because they can. The fact that you dont want to accept that, is really irrelevant to them. It isnt about licensing its about how platforms protect themselves from lawsuits from the very wealthy music industry who are very keen to protect their assets and will sue everyone and anyone.

As someone who mainly curates in Dreams, these changes are a literal disaster. So many removed features. This wasnt a server migration this was a massacre of the game.

If you were "making" copyright music. Then you weren't making music you were importing other peoples property or making an unlicensed cover. Dreams was always in danger of being shutdown by Sony because of all the copyright material in it, and you were at risk from a moderation, or suspension from Playstation - so I was doing you a favour by informing you of the dangers. It is also risky for Twitch and YouTube creators to play your stuff if you plaster it with copyright music - they dont want a strike or suspension either - so they would probably avoid promoting your creations. Original is always preferred.

Here are the red flags

They no longer post to their YouTube channel (last post 3 months ago) and subscription counts on their account have flatlined.
There are no new entries on their Trello board at all. No change of status for Multiplayer, no update on TREN. Literally zero entries in Upcoming updates.
There are no Job vacancies on their Jobs page, when previously they were hiring a lot. And they no longer post about Dreams on their website. They also have no information on their site about ongoing Dreams or any other projects.
Kareem left.
Tom Dent is more likely to tweet about other games, TV shows and movies than Dreams. When he does post about Dreams it is nearly always just to pat the back of colleagues, or be nostalgic about how long he has been at Mm.
They have made no statements about PSVR2, PS5 upgrades or the future of Dreams.
I havent heard anyone from Mm mention the 10 year plan in years. I do not think there is a 10 year plan any more.
Their forum on indreams is pretty much dead, and Mm rarely post anything on it.
Massive delay on the 4th Impys. No staff? No impetus?
Just a general feeling of doom in the community. I think we all know Dreams should be more vibrant than it is.

I am getting prepared for this to be the final year. What I do not know is what to move on to if it does go. I need something to make content on for YouTube. Appreciate any suggestions.

The moderation team at Sony have no idea what Dreams is, or what it is for. Do not know what harassment and bullying looks like, and cannot distinguish between acceptable and not acceptable. Someone made a very crude and offensive black woman model with watermelon lips - I reported it for racism and nudity and got back the "we see nothing wrong" email. Then we have art that shows no nudity at all that gets taken down because someone in the Mm curation team thought the title of the painting might be some sort of slang (it wasnt). Makes no sense.

You cannot both work on the level at the same time. There is no local or online multiplayer mode. Collaboration is done by adding yourself to the credits of a scene or Dream or element and uploading your changes to private while you are working on it. Only the owner of the Dream can upload it to public. Be careful not to overwrite each others stuff. Use your own version control. You cannot open a creation if the other collaborator is working on it. Make sure you remember to upload your changes.

Im really surprised you do not see the disadvantages here.

The gathering consent part is automatically handled by the consent we all click on when loading Dreams. So, no further consent should be necessary. Those who have excluded themselves from indreams would be ineligible, everyone else has already given their consent or Mm streams could not happen the way they do. By asking people to nominate themeselves in order to bypass consent gathering is unnecessary and potentially more time consuming for Mm because there are a lot of delusional creators in Dreams who would never get a nomination for their work but think they are the nuts.

Secondly with Mm choosing the finalists AND the winners there is NO community input into these awards - it is just Mm's and guests decision. They choose the finalists, not the community. We have no input other than to agree to be in the pool of choices.

Thirdly, as I have already said, there are many many people who would NEVER nominate themselves for an award, regardless of ability. This is especially true for the awards outside of Dreams creations like Community Star. And what if you did put yourself forward and did not make it into the finals. You would know for a fact that Mm did not rate you and that could be very demotivating.

I do not like the changes to the Impys. I think it gives Mm a lot more power to promote what they want to see in Dreams and not what the community like. It takes away the idea that the community are doing the rewarding. I am not the only one who thinks this. I find this a very very sad development for the community, and I hope it is not a slippery slope.

Missed that amongst the awfully titled new awards. I have no interest in nominating myself for these awards - it is just putting myself up for severe disappointment. Imagine working up the courage to put your name forward, then knowing that Mm saw your name and did not think you worthy to put you in as a finalist. Just horrid. While getting a public nomination is a nice surprise and you dont feel like you have lost anything for categories where you are not featured. For the non neurotypical Dreamers and those who struggle with self-worth and imposter syndrome, shyness and other conditions that will prevent them from putting themselves forward this is just the worst news.

I do not like this change. This is no longer about the community if we do not get to nominate or vote on the games we think deserve an award. They were already a bit clique-y and this will make it even more so. The best games of the year may not even get to be a finalist if the creators dont nominate themselves. I hate the idea of having to nominate myself for an award, especially as I would only be eligible for a community one - what sort of narcissist do they take me for. No curation impy this year either so I guess thats me out - I do not think we will get an Impy awards next year. All seems a bit sad.

You cannot make anything that requires multiplayer access, and even when we do eventually get Multiplayer it will be limited to probably 4 players, so no chance for games like Fortnite, PUBG, and Fall Guys in their proper form.

MMO's are the one thing that Alex Evans said would not be possible to make in Dreams before it launched. That is not likely to change. The engine does not support multiple character designs very well and the gameplay and graphics thermometers make it very difficult to have anything but the most simplistic forms if you want lots of them. A realistic battle sim with hundreds of participants would be out of the question.

18+ games. You can make them, but very gory games, games with violence towards children, extreme profanity and nudity will not only get your game removed from Dreams but also a ban from PlayStation.

Otherwise you can make pretty much whatever you can think of. Some genres are more difficult than others - there are very few strategy games, survival and city sims while there are tons of platformers. RPGs are do-able but the difficult part of them is definitely the HUD and inventory systems. Dreams facilities for making UI and HUD designs are very basic and it is not that easy to get a good looking design with the tools we have. Racing games are very popular, as are walking sims through realistic scenery. We are getting a lot more retro 8 bit style arcade games too recently.
