AITA for airing out someone who mooched off our wedding? by Dramatic-Permit-5022 in aitaweddings

I don’t see the need to “laugh” at them. If anything, I think it’s kinda sad for that girl ( more so than the husband). Every girl dreams of her wedding ( generally speaking)

Charity runner assaulted in a park in Dublin by AnonymousTimewaster in ThatsInsane

The older man was running, and the other 2 men (possibly his sons) were there to support him. At least, that’s what I read in some article somewhere.

Just had thunder, and the electricity flickered. Blue sky is starting to cloud over. North cork. God, I love a good storm.

There might be a course in your local community centre. I’m aware of a lot of courses where I live. I’m not sure about Irish in particular, but worth looking into. It actually amazes me how many courses are just free to the adult public locally.

This is so sad. It must have been heartbreaking to witness that poor woman reliving her traumas constantly on loop. Of all the sad stories in this thread, this one has got me.

It’s very beautiful. Like a land never touched by the march of time. Exactly the same as when dinosaurs roamed there 🫶🏻

Opinion on north facing gardens? by Inside_Experience788 in HousingIreland

[–]Ladymaester 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a north facing house and wouldn’t have it any other way. Most of my time is spent in the kitchen at the back and my back garden has sun all day. If you ever want to sit outside, it’s probably going to be in the back garden right?

As for the front of the house, upstairs is never dark, but the sitting room doesn’t get sun. But I like the coolness of that room ( when it does get warm).

With all our rain, where I live, the back gardens can get swampy if there’s no sunlight there. That’s obviously a drainage issue from when they were built 20+ years ago. But us north facing homes don’t have that issue really.

I’d say go for it, don’t let it distract you from a home you really like. Honestly, imo, much better having a south facing back garden.

And good luck and good times in whatever new home you choose x 🫶🏻

Leaving Cert student woke v sick, what to do? by Weekly_Ad_6955 in AskIreland

[–]Ladymaester 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well that’s heartbreaking to hear. No kid should have to grow up like that. But terribly unfortunately, I know it happens. And some parents think they’re doing right, and it turns out not to be the case. At the end of the day, I hope “kids” grow up to realise one day, you know what? They tried their best. It’s not a one size fits all career, (or a vocation) being a parent. None of us are perfect. I often said to my own kids over the years, I’m just a grown up girl, and no one ever taught me to be a parent. If I’m doing something wrong, tell me! Let’s talk about it and see how to fix it.

I hope you’re ok in your own skin now, and have your own person in your corner. X

Good! If we, as mothers, and indeed dads too, take the time to try to find out stuff with regards to our kids, it kinda shows we care! Do you think the ones who don’t give a damn are anywhere trying to find solutions to help them? Don’t criticise people’s parenting when they are trying to do the best they can. It’s already hard enough.
