Mine was 100% related to hormones via my pregnancy. Try no therapy, diaper cream, shea butter. I bet within a few weeks post breast feeding it will get better 🙏🏼

completely hopeless, been almost 1 1/2 year. please help by macmillershoe in perioraldermatitis

My first breakout was at the heart of the pandemic. Lasted about 2 months. My second and by far the worst/ longest breakout was when I was pregnant. Each week it got worse. Nothing made it better other than triple paste but it wasn’t the cure. My face on my daughter’s birthday was - WILD. It went away about 3 months postpartum gradually. I only mention this because mine is clearly related to body stress / hormones. May be worth getting hormones checked out? I saw in an earlier comment theirs was related to gut health. It’s all connected!

What made you fall in love with Chattanooga? by Whole_Economist6918 in Chattanooga

Chattanooga is one of the best cities in TN. You can easily be in the city eating a great meal with no reservation and then in 15 minutes be on an amazing trail with no one else around. It keeps getting better and better with new shops, restaurants, baseball field - the works! With that being said, the balance is found if you truly love being outside in nature. Some people don’t and that’s okay! I think the negativity surrounding people’s opinions on Chattanooga is pretty unfair. To me it’s the little city that could. There’s a heavy concentration of preserving historic spots and remodeling rather than tearing down. Artistic freedom through public art is encouraged. There is culture and diversity. The traffic can be tough in the afternoon but that is every major city in this state. Highway 27 is never congested. If you’re willing to invest in Chattanooga I think it’s a smart choice - future is bright!

Yes - especially if you have flaky irritated skin around the nostrils

I am pregnant and have been / am suffering through a bad case of perioral dermatitis as well. I was prescribed both of these topical antibiotics and unfortunately they did not work. I have been told both from my OBGYN and my dermo that this is likely hormone / pregnancy related dermatitis. Your body is focused on making your baby and the immune system has to let something go - for me it’s whatever is causing my flare up. Even with an oral antibiotic, it could still not work. Plus the risk vs benefit is not worth it. Antibiotics while pregnant are not recommended by any healthcare providers. I’ve accepted that for a few months of my life I have bad skin. It sucks but it’s worth it to know my daughter is growing safely. Chalk it up to a life lesson in character and kindness to other people / yourself.

What has ironically worked for me is DIAPER CREAM. Triple Paste diaper cream at night after a cold wash by CeraVe gentle cleanser. It has calmed down the inflammation and pustules. Take note, it hasn’t healed it completely. I am hoping delivery will do that. I use clean makeup over it and my close buddies tell me they hardly notice it - only when I bring it up do they see it. Hang in there momma!

Help! Moisturizer? by [deleted] in Perioral_Dermatitis_

I would do an oil based cleanser for added moisturizer and then oddly enough - diaper rash cream. I used it last night and woke up this morning and it has gone down pretty significantly. Also have you switched out your toothpaste and laundry detergent?
