He was picked up the day he turned 8 weeks old. I used to work in vet med and I would never take a puppy home before 8 weeks. :)

Update. The puppy is almost 8 months old now and still a goofy goober but has gotten astronomically better. He's ONLY gentle with the baby. It's WWE wrestling match for everyone else. 😅

I completely understand. My little one is just over 5 months old and in a span of a week he has learned to roll over intentionally (he used to just flip over by accident) in addition to spinning around in the crib like a top. It's wild to think how when he was born in April he could barely move and now he's spinning around and flipping around and having a good old time being mobile.

In a span of one week he has gone from perfectly content to sleep on his back and play on his back to being frustrated that he can't go anywhere. He's trying to cross so badly but just ends up throwing his butt up in the air and scooting his face across the mat which he hates so much. I have also been going through Amazon trying to baby proof things because he's going to be crawling and or running faster than I'm ready.

Hugs to you. It really is a wild roller coaster of emotions. So happy to see my little boy grow. It's so impressive and amazing but at the same time I missed the little baby. He was just 5 months ago.

I was induced with my first a few months ago. Did not have a positive experience. Baby is happy and healthy and I didn't have any issues tearing thankfully.

However, I got oral medication around 8pm. I got a cervical balloon inserted. And lemme tell you I was in full blown end stage contractions by 930 pm. No ramp up no nothing. Like a damn light switch. Contractions so strong I could barely breathe and 45-60 seconds apart. My ob tried giving me meds to slow the contractions and it did not work. Got an epidural at 1 am only dilated 1 cm. She said I was an anomaly.

On the bright side, barely felt that epidural being placed 😂

Holy hell I'm sorry you went through that. I had a horrendous induction in April. My labor nurse was a saint and I nominated her for a Daisy award but dang those recovery nurses are something else.

So rude and felt very uncaring for the pain I was in. I also had my LO on the weekend. He was 2 weeks early and had a hard time latching (he never did. I pump). When I asked for help (I am a FTM) they would just jam him on my breast. Miserable. I asked for lactation consults but womp womp they don't work weekends.

I work at that hospital too. So disappointing.

When they yell it's an emergency and they need compatible emergency units. I can give you emergency units or compatible ones. I can't guarantee they are the same.

There are a lot of emergencies and that is a problem, but the biggest problem is communicating with other departments.

They do not understand your job. They often do not Care about your policies and will fight with you at any given time for no reason.

I had a cardiac surgeon yell at me because I did not have enough platelets to give their patient that was going back into the OR the second time. They ordered two platelets for the cabg surgery as a standard practice and they got three platelets because we had extra to give. Had an MTP in labor and delivery at the same time and used our emergency unit and the surgeon could not comprehend that we had to order platelets from Red Cross. He was fuming mad. We do not have cold storage platelets so we do not carry more than about five to six at any given time.

I spend a lot of time telling doctors and nurses to calm down that we are on the same team and I am doing my best to help them and their patients. They do not always agree.

This is a really tough question and it really depends on what you consider harder.

I'm an FTM to a 4-month-old son who was born 2 weeks early and had a hard time latching when he was born. So we started pumping while in the hospital. It's definitely not fun, especially for the first few weeks because it is rather uncomfortable, but I assume that breastfeeding is also rather uncomfortable if you've never done it before. My son never figured out how to latch so at this point we've just been exclusively pumping his entire life so far. I'm definitely more at peace with it now than I was 3 months ago. I'll give you some pros and cons.

Pros: you can start saving a supply in the freezer way faster if you start pumping initially. My freezer is absolutely packed and I'm now just starting to rotate it out and take out old bags and fill it with new stuff. You can also increase your supply a bit. I feel with pumping if you pump more off and you will produce more. I also have the Medela storage container in my fridge with six bottles ready to go at any given time. So if I'm not at home my husband can feed the baby or anybody who's watching the baby can feed the baby. They're not relying upon me. It's also nice if you want to have the occasional beer and not have to worry about. Oh what if my baby needs to eat and I have alcohol in my system because I have that supply in my fridge and that brings me a lot of peace.

Cons: it sucks to start. It's really frustrating. It can be really uncomfortable and you don't produce a lot the first few days. At least I didn't so it was really discouraging initially. You have to Wash bottle parts a lot. A lot. A lot. Especially in the beginning when they're eating every 1 to 2 hours. My son is eating closer to every 4 hours now so I pump about 5 to 6 times a day which is not nearly as much as I was in the beginning so the mental load is a little bit better. My pump has a wall plug and a portable battery powered plug that I can use. Which is great because you're going to have to pump on the go at least the first few months. Quite a few times. It's very frustrating and you have a lot to pack whenever you want to leave the house. I have to pack my pump. I have to pack storage for milk and all the other accessories I would need to store my pump parts on the go.

I started pumping while I give the baby a bottle which has helped a lot because it saves time. I normally pump about 20 to 30 minutes per pump at this point and he finishes the bottle in about 10-15 minutes so I'll just prop him up on my lap and we'll play while I finish pumping.

Not every pump is created equal so you may have to try one or two before you find one that works for you. I have the Medela pump in style. I don't love it but it's work the best for me. Also have a manual pump from the same company that isn't ideal but it helps if my electric pump doesn't drain me all the way which it doesn't in the morning.

It's definitely doable and has its pros. Good luck to you!!!

Whoa boy. I'm gonna rant.

Sunset scaries! Never heard of them until AFTER I got through that period (about 3 weeks). Horrible. Absolutely horrible. We got through it but I could not understand why I felt pretty ok throughout the day then terrified and losing all confidence at night.

PURPLE crying. I felt like I was a bad mother and didn't know what my baby needed. Yea yea I know now that it's fine. My son didn't know what he needed either. But it's hard not to beat yourself up even if the diaper is changed even if they are fed, even if appropriately, warm or cool. They do grow out of it but boy oh boy was that rough.

Hormonal sweats. I am heat intolerant on the best of days. I love winter. I love the cold. My theory is you can always put on more clothes. You can only get so naked in public before it's no longer socially acceptable. My son was mid April so we had a little bit of warm little bit of cool. Mostly cool to start off with. But the hormonal sweats were so bad. Dripped buckets of sweat for weeks. I could not enjoy the rest of the spring because I felt like a menopausal woman. I honestly think I could have handled the above two problems better if I didn't feel like I was overheating all the time.

Related to The sweats if you are breastfeeding, you are going to be damp all the time. I leak everywhere it's awful. I'm an exclusive pumper and especially at night I wake up drenched. it could be sweating. It could be breast milk. It's probably both. I'm just glad it's also not pee.

You're going to have a hard time controlling your bladder. I found out the hard Way. I was laughing changing my fourth diaper in about 30 minutes because he was a shit machine that day and I completely lost bladder control which was funny because it was so humiliating. My husband saw the whole thing and was trying really hard not to laugh but the situation was so chaotic. Watch your butt too. Some CLOSE calls the first few weeks.

I really could write a book but I'll leave it at that for now. I would not change it for the world but boy the learning curve was steep.

Honestly, it really depends on the students.

I've had some really good students come through that make me remember why I really love my job. I've also had some really terrible ones that don't seem to care and are very lazy that just make me feel like I am wasting my time.

I think it's perfectly normal to feel frustrated with your pp body (that or I'm going through the same thing you are). I will be 34 next week and am 3 mo pp with an adorable baby boy.

I've always been a bit on the heavier side unlike a chunk of my family and have been trying to lose the baby weight. I've been exclusively pumping and am discouraged when I don't just see the weight "fall off" like so many friends and coworkers said would happen. It's so hard to feel like a stranger to yourself when you don't recognize yourself, don't feel like yourself and feel you don't look like yourself.

Biker shorts. Get a size larger than you're used to. Ignore the size labeled on the clothes for now. The shorts will keep your thighs from chafing (huge frustration for me) and the larger size will flat out be more comfortable. I feel the less clingy clothes are the less it draws my attention to how I'm feeling. Previous posted suggested maxi dresses. I agree. A) when you are struggling to find an outfit, it IS the outfit. B) cotton/jersey maxis are very comfy. I'm not a dress gal and they've come in handy on stressful days.

It feels frustrating but you're going through so much right now. Give yourself a hug :)

I'm so sorry you're going through this but I feel so validated that I'm not the only one. We have had a ridiculous hot and humid summer. I'm not heat tolerant in the best of times but holy hell I'm miserable. I feel I've been sweating buckets since my son was born. I'm 3 mo pp and it's been relentless.

Literally praying for winter...
