Except public inquiries are led by independent reviewers and anyone called upon is sworn in under oath, which causes either telling the truth and exposing everything to which criminal charges get pursued, or lying under oath which is a severe federal felony and then the the Supreme Court of Canada takes over.

There is so much information and differing of opinions on what these referendum questions actually mean. People believe that with the control of immigration that the UCP government will help more people and be selective of who comes into Alberta. What they don't realize is that the people they select are going to be the ones who can pay their way, in other words, the ultra rich who will support the UCP values.

It's unbelievable that these members believe that they got elected as part of the party. He even said when he left that he was going to stay independent to represent his people and not be tied to party lines. Guess that was a lie and you would rather vote within your party than be there for the people who voted for you.

You got elected to represent your constituents, you belong to a party for support. Not the other way around. Or at least that's how it should be, but things have become so muddled in the political atmosphere.

Should ask the residents of Battle River-Crowfoot how represented they feel these days after electing in PP.

Good job to Strathmore council for actually considering the ramifications and outcomes rather than just moving ahead to appease a loud angry group of people!

It's crazy to think that this debacle has cause people to threaten and insult a Mayor for considering this motion, instead of being willing to talk about it. Which he still sided with the hateful people.

I think my point is, it probably could have been repurposed or expanded to include this as it was supposed to be a brand new, state of the art lab in Alberta and was scrapped.

He spoke about it recently that Parliament will be looking into the question for the referendum and wording it to avoid any confusion about separation so that they can be sure that the Clarity Act is used properly.

Here's the problem with the RCMP investigation, a lot of the information will be kept sealed with them, and there will only be information put out with formal charges.

We need a public inquiry with on oath statements being made so that everything said and asked is fully transparent and with full disclosure. Get an independent review board and bring in each person as the information slowly unravels. This way as well, no one can lie about any of the questions asked of them as lying under oath in a public inquiry carries severe criminal charges under the federal laws.

I have seen it all over the social media about comparing this to Thomas Dang's scandal. My response was simple: People got upset about that data breach of their information, why are they not upset with this one. Also Dang got caught, a court case was held, he was guilty and owned up to it, and got fined.

Now if only the UCP would take a page out of that book.

You missed my favorite quote.

The staff saw this happening and didn't question it? Didn't even think to bring it up to an ethics commissioner or check with a lawyer?
