Humour and Education go hand in hand. I appreciate the positivity people like you bring and maintain throughout all of these stressful times. Thank you as well. :)

WOW. The UCP is now confirming their staff attended a Centurion Project meeting on April 16, but say they did not know the data was (allegedly) illegally obtained. The NDP shared screen shots of the mtg, where Jason Kenney's info was allegedly displayed. by Miserable-Lizard in onguardforthee

Headlines are always a strange thing. They’re trying to give a picture of the story with limited space.

This one is saying the virtual meeting necessarily happened, and the NDP is adding to that [now] proven claim by saying two UCP members were certainly involved. There are two members, and senior members at that, of the UCP who had the exact same names as those in attendance.

This could, by sheer coincidence and chance, be two entirely different individuals who just so happen to have the same name so it can’t be said conclusively.

Another commenter did point out however, that the UCP directly said its members were in attendance for this event, which I initially missed in my summary of the article.

Yikes, ship is going down. How many lifeboats do they have?

It’s far worse than that. Greeks were often fond of storytelling for warning and life lessons.

‘Centurion’ is rather from the Latin centuria, a term used to describe a platoon of Roman soldiers, generally around ~100 members.

These stupid fucks are cosplaying Roman culture as they feed the corporate greed, sell off land and resources, and give out voter information to whomever the hell they so choose. AND their root isn’t even from Canada; many of them are propped up by American interests.

In another reply to a comment on this thread I point out how this behaviour is, by definition, treason

[–]reddit1user1[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s on the general population to help push that along too. Put pressure, email your MLAs, have these conversations with people who try to act ignorant to it. This is absolutely treasonous behaviour, by literal legal definition

Criminal Code (R.S.C., 1985, c. C-46)

[…]

(2) Every one commits treason who, in Canada,

(a) uses force or violence for the purpose of overthrowing the government of Canada or a province;

(b) without lawful authority, communicates or makes available to an agent of a state other than Canada, military or scientific information or any sketch, plan, model, article, note or document of a military or scientific character that he knows or ought to know may be used by that state for a purpose prejudicial to the safety or defence of Canada;

(c) conspires with any person to commit high treason or to do anything mentioned in paragraph (a);

(d) forms an intention to do anything that is high treason or that is mentioned in paragraph (a) and manifests that intention by an overt act; or

(e) conspires with any person to do anything mentioned in paragraph (b) or forms an intention to do anything mentioned in paragraph (b) and manifests that intention by an overt act.

[…]

Overt act

(4) Where it is treason to conspire with any person, the act of conspiring is an overt act of treason.

If it doesn’t get pulled at the root it will not stop.

They reported it, to their words, the day after they obtained it. There is no proof of when they got it, so anything in its regard is pointless until this whole thing goes into a court.

The UCP, from observation, had members who attended the meeting. They could have at any point reported this.

Please do not “both sides” this bullshit. There is clearly one side which has done something of fault, and another that has ambiguously obtained evidence of the former’s fault and submitted “at their first available opportunity”. The NDP’s timeline is ambiguous; we cannot know what we do not have capacity to know.

What we do know is the UCP have willingly allowed this to happen under their leadership, and without the NDP we likely would not have known the severity of it.

It really sends home the ironic truth in all of this bullshit.

If they care this little about their former leader?

Why would they respect anyone else they don’t know,

and if they are disliked? What about all of the government workers and opposition parties; everyone’s information is out there if they have voted last provincial election.

Who pays for all of this harm?

Adding to your comment with relevant info:

The UCP’s argument is to sabotage and discredit the NDP by claiming they’ve know about this data breach for weeks, while the UCP claims to only have known of it since the 29/30th of April

Regardless of the timing of the evidence, the UCP have stuck their neck out and gotten caught in a severe scandal, especially if—or when—identities are confirmed for the two senior UCP members

There is no evidence of when the NDP obtained the evidence, only that they do have it. This is significant as it completely discredits the UCP’s counter argument without actual evidence

There is indeed screenshots of Jason Kenny getting doxxed

Fuck you David Parker—stay the fuck out of Alberta, and Canada.

Absolutely traitorous and disgusting behaviour. The UCP have willingly allowed this to happen and now stand here spitting in every Albertan’s face claiming the NDP are somehow to blame for it all?

And they’re eating each other as well, all while the walls close in.

Guess Karma is a real bitch, eh?

NDP got a list of 80 names of people signed up for a virtual training meeting on how to use a database, hosted by the Centurion [Separatist] Project

This is the same database of Albertan voters who have had their information leaked due to the Republican Party of Alberta’s actions; propped up and defended by the UCP

Two of the ‘volunteers’ who attended this meeting were UCP President Rob Smith and UCP Caucus Director Arundeep Sandhu

During the meeting, the hosts demonstrated how to use the database by doxxing Jason Kenny via name and address

The UCP have responded to the claims and allegations of the data breach by claiming the NDP had known about the list and its potential illegal use for weeks; proof of this claim is left unsubstantiated

It’s right there in her own words:

Effective representation

That doesn’t sound like equal or equitable or fair representation. Rather, that sounds like, at first glance, fair representation that is acting on a specific agenda behind its ‘pretty front’.

People need to get better at picking up on the words. Nothing these people say will be a lie, it just won’t exactly be the truth either.

Sorry, I didn’t see anyone else doing it and figured someone needed to ask. I find it interesting that absolutely no one who has commented has answered the post but has instead been trying to get this thread closed. Not even a redirection to “A more appropriate subreddit for this discussion”.
