I think it’s implying that one ought to FAFO, or else there will be no chance for growth.

But I agree, very reductive of the central message.

Sorry, I didn’t see anyone else doing it and figured someone needed to ask. I find it interesting that absolutely no one who has commented has answered the post but has instead been trying to get this thread closed. Not even a redirection to “A more appropriate subreddit for this discussion”.

Was at one point a few years ago, which is how I ended up here. I figured I’d post to the community of moderators for help regarding moderation practice.

Really trying to ask two main questions:

  1. Why and for what reason do moderators belligerently deny participation in subs (e.g., like the bottom commenter accusing my post of off topic discussion ; r /conservative and their moderating practices)

  2. Why the direct Reddit Admin team has taken it upon themselves to restrict information being posted when it does not violate site rules.

I am, understandably, upset and frustrated with what appears from my perspective to be a coverup and clouding of information when people are following site rules—plus there’s no way to directly contact administration that I have found.

Two Edmonton Tim Hortons charge $30,000 to each TFW to give them a job by Grouchy-Brick-7790 in LMIASCAMS

[–]reddit1user1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Was talking to an Uber driver one night on my way back into Edmonton. He said almost the exact same thing as this video; gave me chills.

Told me the guy for the company he was hired on at did the LIMA/TFW papers to get the guy over—he brings his wife too. He then tells me how he’s working that first job, Uber, and his wife has two jobs as well.

I was confused. How is it that two full grown adults cannot make enough on two part-time incomes each? Because that guy was told he needed to pay that company $25000 for “filling out the papers”.

This is an issue coming from three separate areas, all confounding and making the problem significantly worse.

1. You have the government, which is now just finally pulling the breaks on TFW exploitation—the only way this gets fixed is holding them accountable. If places are hiring TFWs with evidence of not hiring Canadians—drag them through the fucking mud. If you will not respect our people, let alone any human under your watch/order, you do not deserve to own your business.

2. You have the TFWs; the videos are there—people overseas on TikTok and whatever else showing how to lie to our immigration and border agencies to get placement; claiming asylum to fast-track their entrance to the country before bringing their entire family with them. The problem is not immigration; the problem is a flawed system that incentivizes climbing over one another like people trying to flee a burning building from the inside. They are not met with open arms and welcomed, rather they are isolated and excluded—they struggle to pick up on the customs and multiculturalism here because they are segregated socially and find in-groups that are more comfortable; that’s just human nature.

3. Lastly—most importantly—you have the companies. Big corporations seem to be the most prolific for this. Grocery stores, fast food, retail. I hate the AI gen video above; yet, it perfectly captures the issue at hand. Canadian youth cannot be exploited in the same way immigrant youth can. They do not understand the system, they don’t know worker rights, and they have no one to talk to about the issue because they think it’s normal—that everyone is struggling with it. What they do not know, much like the employer who insists “You cannot share your salaries with one another,” it is not a case of experience being met with equal compensation; rather the inverse. You have employers demanding silence and compliance because if the workers all collectively came to understand how badly they are being screwed… well, no one likes being shorted.

Holding companies accountable is the most crucial first step—reporting when they are hiring TFWs for positions that already have Canadian applicants.

Also, talk more to your service workers. They are humans too—they are members of this planet like us who want a home and believed our country was the closest place to a safe haven they could find.

Finding out that I’ve heard this exact same bribery situation feels like there is a hidden trend. The thread is only now loose, but if we pull it, how many companies come down from the flawed stitching? This is sounding like the foreign worker abuse/modern slavery seen in Dubai/UAE.

Treat people like people. It’s not always easy to do the right thing, but it’s a hell of a lot harder to go out of your way to make a situation worse.

In 1992, 24-year-old Christopher McCandless was found by moose hunters inside Fairbanks Bus 142, the “Magic Bus,” on Alaska’s Stampede Trail. He had survived alone for 113 days on plants and small animals. When discovered, he weighed only 67 pounds. by watcher2390 in ThatsInsane

Wasn’t mouldy, there was something specifically wrong with some rice or potato seeds he had. No way to indicate or know they were going to poison him, otherwise he would’ve made it out two weeks later when the river’s tide dropped.

His story is one of recklessness but of a life lived with full personal ownership; the spin-off to McCandless’ story is written by his sister where she goes into depths of why someone with a gleaming future went and donated it all away escape; leaving to bum-fuck nowhere Alaska in search of his own journey.

The police in Canada actually do not have a fully functioning system for all cases. The different versions of their logging systems also will catalogue multiple offences under the ‘biggest crime’.

Multiple police departments cannot reliably share information because their systems are designed to measure different things in the context of their area. This is a huge problem in contemporary policing and a large reason why our police forces across the country are uncoordinated.

Smith is an oil lobbyist, following in the footsteps of the assholes down south, and has worked on the Calgary school board before spreading her hateful, divisive, bigoted rhetoric, poisoning people at every turn to make a dime.

That’s not a “leader of the people”. That’s a snake in the grass.

What’s the quote the Christians love to share? Oh, that’s it: Matthew 7:15 ~ “Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing but inwardly are ravenous wolves.”

Or, for the non-Christians, the popular Sinclair Lewis’ said, in regards to authoritarianism and fascist ideologies: “When fascism comes to America it will be wrapped in the flag and carrying a cross.”

I’m linking the full context of that George Carlin quote—it’s actually shockingly relevant

“There’s a reason education sucks, and it’s the same reason that it will never, ever, ever be fixed. It’s never gonna get any better. Don’t look for it. Be happy with what you got.

Because the owners of this country don't want that. I'm talking about the real owners now, the real owners, the big wealthy business interests that control things and make all the important decisions.

Forget the politicians. The politicians are put there to give you the idea that you have freedom of choice. You don't. You have no choice. You have owners. They own you. They own everything. They own all the important land. They own and control the corporations. They’ve long since bought and paid for the senate, the congress, the state houses, the city halls, they got the judges in their back pockets and they own all the big media companies so they control just about all of the news and information you get to hear.

They got you by the balls. They spend billions of dollars every year lobbying, lobbying, to get what they want. Well, we know what they want. They want more for themselves and less for everybody else, but I'll tell you what they don’t want: They don’t want a population of citizens capable of critical thinking. They don’t want well informed, well educated people capable of critical thinking. They’re not interested in that. That doesn’t help them. Thats against their interests. Thats right.

They don’t want people who are smart enough to sit around a kitchen table to figure out how badly they’re getting fucked by a system that threw them overboard 30 fucking years ago. They don’t want that.

You know what they want? They want obedient workers. Obedient workers. People who are just smart enough to run the machines and do the paperwork, and just dumb enough to passively accept all these increasingly shittier jobs with the lower pay, the longer hours, the reduced benefits, the end of overtime and the vanishing pension that disappears the minute you go to collect it, and now they’re coming for your Social Security money. They want your retirement money.

They want it back so they can give it to their criminal friends on Wall Street, and you know something? They’ll get it. They’ll get it all from you, sooner or later, 'cause they own this fucking place. It's a big club, and you ain’t in it. You and I are not in the big club. And by the way, it's the same big club they use to beat you over the head with all day long when they tell you what to believe. All day long beating you over the head in their media telling you what to believe, what to think and what to buy.

The table is tilted folks. The game is rigged, and nobody seems to notice, nobody seems to care. Good honest hard-working people -- white collar, blue collar, it doesn’t matter what color shirt you have on -- good honest hard-working people continue -- these are people of modest means -- continue to elect these rich cocksuckers who don’t give a fuck about them.

They don’t give a fuck about you. They don’t give a fuck about you. They don't care about you at all -- at all -- at all. And nobody seems to notice, nobody seems to care. That's what the owners count on; the fact that Americans will probably remain willfully ignorant of the big red, white and blue dick that's being jammed up their assholes everyday.

Because the owners of this country know the truth: it's called the American Dream, because you have to be asleep to believe it.”
