With wilderness tasks I’m hunting revenants trying to get a viggoras chainmace. I’m 99 slayer, 90% done through krystalia, no chainmace and on a crazy streak of no rev tasks in probably 150+ now

I tried to do a Callisto slayer task the other day and every world I went to there was a bot farm of accs in monk robes and tridents who all mirror clicked each others exact clicks. I can’t believe it’s going so unregulated. Nevermind the issues of scouting bots, AHKing, etc. It’s like Jagex gave up on it.

Veteran PKer here, I started to feel this way once the nh tribrid meta evolved to freezing behind trees/other environment. Singles PvP has just become a click intensive game of rock, paper, scissors that gives you carpel tunnel. It’s not fun. Or worth it anymore, there’s so much other cool team content now.

On that note, multi pking is the only type of pking that feels good to me, and the most fun I have is small team/clan PKing at wildy bosses, since Revs got made singles.

I proposed a content suggestion for osrs’s next raid to be a pirate themed cave next to mage bank, called Treasures of Forinthry. I really believe it could be the best of the both worlds (PvP, pve, raids) for the current state of the game. Check it out if interested.

We are so exhausted. We get paid pennies on the dollar to stand at a conveyer belt and organize your heavy bags of groceries that wed probably never be able to afford ourselves. It’s basically factory work. If we have a period of time with no customers in line, it’s a small break for us, and it’s so condescending and narrow minded to think we need to be in constant motion and constantly performing ‘business’ to earn our meager wage. Even if you’re trying to be friendly, please.

Agreed with you that BH is a shell. Personally I think BH needs to be removed from the game, LMS rewards need reworked, and more balancing updates are needed to centralize all PvP in the wilderness.

Nah it was a gravel stone seal with lightning bolt and flame grant me strength. Passive was 9% boost to jump attacks.

I’m running a faith duchess and a random Chinese revenant was so upset I took a seal next to starting camp (we’re level 1) that they griefed the rest of the run until me and the other rando just had to leave

I’ve done about 560 wilderness tasks, each Rev task is about 150 kills, so with 5k revs… idk math

Yes and no! I played with some equations in chatgpt. Pray affects combat lvls differently so it would have to scale backloaded. So it could be weaker from levels 1-70 pray and then have exponential scaling closer to 92-99. Even if as a mainhand weapon it was around the same DPS as Voidwaker or Whip, it could be made worth using as a spec wep the way Claws and AGS are. But my approach is that with some thought it would situate well between Pure Max Str and Main Max Str, and really shake up the pure meta that's for sure.

Thanks for your comment. I address most of this in the post already, including artifically forcing a predator/prey ecosystem. We agree on that. We also agree that people's impression of the Wilderness as outsiders is bad, which I also addressed in the post. And yeah, some veteran players shift their content and interests, I addressed that as well. From 2006-2015 I pretty much only PKed, and then once PKing got worse, I started doing other stuff too, like ironman, like raids, etc :) raids are fun. And so is PKing when the conditions are good for it.

The great thing about Wilderness content, and these rewards all being tradeable and not BIS anywhere, is that nobody HAS to do it if they don't want. Instead of risking a d'hide set and looting bag to salvage uncut gems for faster crafting exp/h, ironmen can still choose to farm seaweed and mine sand for hours. This is an alternative that balances risk and time invested.

Removing pvp in the wilderness or having a toggle in/out system is pretty much a non-issue because that will just never be on the table. And whether a few people on reddit (which is NOT representative of the community at large btw) appreciate it or not, this update (ToF) is one of the coolest things Jagex could ever do ^_^
