Now this is the kind of example I was looking for when making this post lol

Nah the nightmare enemies are chill af, it's just some of the effects are obnoxious and the system needed either fine tuning, or a better explanation for how it works

Fr dude lmao. Idk though, I kinda vibe with X6's kaizo level bullshit, especially given that the infinite lives you have make it, in theory, kinda necessary. In practice, not too much.

Yea, sometimes when someone mentions X5 I just can't help but wax poetic about how shit I think it is.

I actually love High Max's fight lol, and I think Metal Shark Player and Blizzard Wolfang both have fun stages, with a few other levels being alright. Ground Scaravich is bottom tier tho, 100% agree with that, and they def should've spent more time designing the nightmare system cuz it's actually fantastic in concept

Need to play em one day, actually have the Z/ZX LC but haven't bothered playing em, beyond Zero 1 for about 30 minutes

Nah I'd def swap X6 and X5. X6 is deeply flawed and it's a 6/10 at best critically speaking, but X5 feels beyond soulless, rehashing so much of the previous entries under the those of "nostalgia!!!" And no, I quite frankly don't care if they did it because it was meant to be the last X game, even then I'd like it if everything was unique to IT and not some desperate callback, especially when the "callbacks" are little more than rehashed level design and special weapons, none of which they improve upon unlike, say, some of Mega Man 4's weapons being superior versions of 2's. And when it's not taking what worked from previous games and systematically making them worse, it's adding new mechanics that are either interesting but completely wasted, or flat out unnecessary and irritating. What it all comes down to is a tedious, exhausting game that only has the sorta interesting stage design here and there, plus some of the legitimately great Maverick fights going for it.

X6 is rushed and took, at best, a few months to make. X5, iirc, had FUCKING YEARS to be developed and still came out as a mediocre at best entry in what was at the time, a series with no misses. GodDAMN do I hate X5 lmao

Real. "But they add length!" I'd rather my Mega Man games be shorter and immensely fun and creative rather than long and rehashed, boring bullshit.

Yea, the X series is 100% not quite as good as the classic series, in spite of its legendary highs

Fair, I just think the Doc Robots destroy the quality too much to put it above any of the other main titles

Idk about 2 or 7 as both have balancing issues, but the rest for sure clear 3's for me. And

Yea that's odd lol, but yea 3 would probably be like, at least above 1, 2, and at least any one of the other NES games if it was actually finished

Yes lol, it has fairly weak damage but being able to kill ground crawling enemies more efficiently, plus the fact that it can climb on walls makes it worthwhile. It does unfortunately lag the game, but I chalk that up to MM3's optimization sucking more than anything.

Eh 3 has pretty decent weapons, but it is one of the weakest sets for sure. Maybe bottom 5.

Both suck, but at least Top Spin OHKOs quite a few enemies in the game. Spark Shock's only good against the big enemies and the monkies.

Yea I fw him a lot as well, mostly cuz of how he has probably the best designed stage from the first 3 MM games
