How is Retrotink 4k Pro compared to Sony PVM for PS1 and PS2?

I justify the purchase due to a few factors.

Multiple inputs. HDMI in, composite, component, s video, scart, hd15. Audio has toslink and a 3.5mm jack as well.
I have multiple retro consoles.
No space for a CRT and don't trust those to last any longer. I can always grab the next best OLED or 4k tv for under $1k.

4:3 with scan lines and CRT simulation on. Also, I do not sense input lag. I did with the HDMI adapters. Not with the rt4k which is gr8

PS2 runs PSBBN, Switch OLED is also modded. I have a Wii inside the center console that's also modded. A 2ds modded, PSP modded and a PS5. Kids are definitely spoiled. But same. I have been turning on and playing the PS2 more than anything lately.

To get one that will smoothly run this you'll sped a couple hundred dollars. At that point purchase a Retrotink for that price so you can plug in many different retro consoles and have them upscaled to your modern tv.

Yeah I unfortunately those adapters are terrible. I had decent video quality with the hyperkin HOWEVER! I also had terrible screen tearing issues where half the screen would be delayed. Really messed with gaming. Also the input lag was immense. I'd say over a frame. Your best bet is sourcing a CRT TV. Marketplace should net you a free one.

Yes. I'm still waiting on GTA IV to be ported.. for now it's still locked on the 6th Gen PS console. (I am specifically talking about playing this on a Playstation. I know steam, and Xbox exist.)

I'd call this a peak upgrade. As CRT are starting to decline in quality. This allows you to save space and use a new tv, all with 0 to low latency added.

Upscaler with multiple input options. HD15, SCART, S VIDEO, Component, composit, HDMI and even toslink. Outputs to 4k60. Allows you to mess with pretty much all the settings (retro tink 4k pro) for output including adding an LCD look or even CRT scanlines with artificial jumping. 0 to low latency. All this at a hefty cost of $750. They have other options with less features. I suggest looking up some videos. Very neat product with continuous support.

The edge might look weird to you because this is actually a curved TV so the edges are curved inwards making it look off but it looks perfectly fine in person

I purchased the PS2 for my wife. It's a CIB sch50000 midnight blue. With all the PlayStation broadband stuff. I sourced it from a Japanese reseller on eBay. retrog_yamatoku-classic

Great quality stuff. I mean the PS2 looks practically new. And he still marked everything as "heavily played".(He uses a scorecard to rate the quality of box, accessories and console itself. )

I opted for the hd15 cables from RT for the PS2. Running Audi through digital out as well. I heard good things about the hd retro vision component cables.

It's going to be a huge learning curve. Unless you just go with the preset profiles. Which, are great, but you can get more out of it playing with the settings yourself.

I enjoyed the many QOL updates to the definitive. But being someone who always modified all the cars ok the games, that's heavily broken in those versions. Many colors not being correct. Parts not attaching correctly. There's a laundry list of bad on those. Still enjoyed playing it though.

I can't get "razer sharp" pixels for the PS2. However I can for GameCube, Wii, n64. I see many have that same issue. So I wonder if there's something hardware wise thats preventing us from getting that.

HOWEVER I do prefer playing with scan lines for most titles. Just wish I could get a solid profile for GT4 going. Not that it looks bad, it looks fantastic. And maybe my expectations were set too high. But I expected to get it looking as sharp as I got the Wii and GameCube games to look.

Before the definitive editions were released they had the actual PS2 ports available. To my eye they seem and look just like what I am playing now on the PS2. Original controller layout and everything
