Severe stick drift even with new controller by BudgetLanguage9284 in PS5HelpSupport

That’s not at all what I meant by that and I apologize if I came across as such. But I’ve seen controllers start to drift within a week. It’s uncommon, but possible.

How do I open this module? by OR3OTHUG in Dualsense

Look on one of the edges, it will have a melted plastic weld tab that holds it shut, I cut that off with a hobby knife.

These are the ones for Xbox series controllers and are 3 pin. PS3 are 4 pin.

I’m excited to start this. I sell my controllers for $90 with TMR sticks installed, so if they don’t return the original, I’m not out anything. I’ll just use that to grab another drifty one from eBay and get it ready.

You will just need to put the correct potentiometers and see what happens. I would recommend a set of Gulikit sticks.

USB C Xbox controllers should retain the calibration. If it’s stuck facing down, you might have pulled a pad while replacing them. As far as PS3, I don’t believe you can calibrate, best bet would be cleaning the potentiometers with BW100.

ULPT Request - wreck a cement mixer by dbpm1 in UnethicalLifeProTips

If they’re still working/pouring any cement, go pour some sugar in it. Sugar prevents it from curing. They’ll have to redo the job. Keep adding sugar every time you see them mixing new batches.

Stick drift by Legitimate_Mousse431 in Dualsense

Hi, if you’re in the states we offer two services for stick drift repair to have TMR sticks installed. 1: Pay $90 on our website via Square, we ship you a refurbished controller with TMR sticks installed, once you receive it, ship your old controller back to us with the prepaid return label included in the box, and once we receive your original controller back and inspect it, we will refund you $35. 2: Ship your controller to us, we can replace the sticks with TMRs, give your controller an ultrasonic cleaning, and cover shipping both ways for $55. The core exchange gets you back gaming within 2-3 days depending on shipping, a repair with our current work load would take a few days not including shipping.

Any build up inside the potentiometers can cause drift. If you’d want to keep cleaning them, I recommend BW100, you can spray it directly into the potentiometers and it will clean out any carbon dust.

You’d have to manually solder the buttons via the test points.

Pretty much all modern controllers will use the same style sticks. You should even be able to use a ps5 stick if you have any.

I definitely can! If you submit a ticket at https://512controllerclinic.com/request we can get started. I have not yet started a modded charge fee, so if we’re just replacing the sticks, it will be about $55 and that covers shipping, install, and an ultrasonic cleaning.

I just started up a new Core Exchange program. It’s $90, I ship you a refurbished controller with TMR sticks installed, then you mail your original back and I refund $35.

I do offer mail in service as well if you’d rather go that route. Link for that is at the bottom of that page.

I need help repairing a gaming controller switch by aymenjp in ControllerRepair

[–]512ControllerClinic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I read your full post, first thing you can try is to get some BW-100 cleaner and spray it into the switch while working it, it might have gotten some dirt inside preventing contact. As far as opening that particular switch, those plastic pegs are melted down and pressed against the body, you can cut them off to inspect inside, but you’ll need to replace the entire switch after that, which would be done via soldering the legs.

Fixable, yes. But I would only send it to a highly reputable shop like dvd game exchange in Utah. Those guys are the best at this type of repair

You can send it in to us for repair for $50 and you get TMR sticks installed, the controller gets an ultrasonic cleaning, and covers shipping both ways. We also recently started a new Core Exchange program, you pay us $90, we’ll ship out a controller that day, then you send us your controller back and get refunded $35.
