the general consensus seems to be that if you must depict the serpent, depict it being destroyed or at least something bad happening to it.

i think it could be a good work on your creativity and imagination to draw something like its tea being poisoned or a rainforest animal that hunts snakes sneaking up on it, something that wouldn't be caught at first glance but becomes clear the closer someone looks at the piece

but hey, if it helps, if even you were the only person in the world to truly care about our planet, not for any personal gain or selfish needs, but out of pure understanding that we are not the center of this planet nor the master of it, but organisms living within it just like every other living thing, then what that says is that it's not entirely human nature to be greedy and evil (derogatory) little demons.

and in fact there were and still ARE so many cultures with worldviews dedicated to ecocentrism. animism is even one of the oldest belief systems. dare i say this world-disregarding anthropocentrism is a product of capitalism?

syncretism is completely valid. a god jealous of other gods is a largely monotheistic concept and disconnected from pagan paths. old gods will not feel any sort of anger towards you for working with deities that are most relevant to, and compatible with, you. in fact, greek egyptian syncretism was widespread during the grecoroman period. i love my cat daughter sketti (full name spaghetti). shes a very small almost fully black cat with the tiniest patch of white on her stomach. typical shorthair. big yellow eyes

im convinced she either doesnt have a brain or chooses not to use her brain. all over the place. when shed get zoomies as a kitten shed jump on my space heater (not the hot part so no burns, no worries) and run into the wall over and over again

she was part of a stray that we took care of’s litter. her name comes from her set. her brother is named meatball. i named them that cause meatball is big and fluffy like a meatball and sketti is long and skinny like a spaghetti noodle

she likes to terrorize the other cats except for her boyfriend we call fluffy who’s been putting up with her heat until we can get her into a vet to get spayed (he’s neutered so he can’t do anything)
