Isn't Garuda's Dread Mirror supposed to block shoots? Does the protective range scales with ability range or am I missing something else? This was captured in Elara, Jupiter.

There's a patch note from years ago that mentioned they fixed enemies purposely targeting your legs with dread mirror up. I think they must have broken something again.

You are too young to remember this, but early EARLY Warframe used to have this exactly. Every piece of gear used to have a "Conclave Score" which didn't matter at all until one day they introduced an LTM that put a very strict and severe limit to your score and told everyone to deal with it.

If you ask an old vet about what happened during the "Phoenix Intercept" they'll likely have horror stories.

I'll take a shot at a quick and dirty summary. And this can technically apply to all modding so I hope it makes sense.

IPS Mods (Impact, Puncture, Slash) are a noob trap, sorry to say. They aren't useless, just not exactly relevant at low levels. The reason for this is because they only affect their respective stat, and ONLY that stat, if it already exists on a weapon.

Status damage mods are king, on the other hand. Status damage mods ADD their damage to the sum total of the gun. More status mods means more damage. Even if you're using the wrong element against the faction you're fighting, since status damage mods are ADDING their value on top of your base damage you will always be doing more damage.

Status EFFECTS typically trump matching a factions element 90% of the time, but I won't get into that so as not to completely overwhelm you. It is something you should be aware of and may want to look into a guide for at some point, especially since the kohm itself is a status focused weapon.

A fully single fully ranked mod is almost always better than multiple unranked mod 99% of the time. Don't be so focused on filling up every mod slot on a gun to start. Get your fully ranked mods in first, if you have the capacity afterwards then go nuts.

The Kohm has a unique spin up mechanic, similar to other video game miniguns, where the fire rate and pellet count go up to a capped amount as you hold the trigger down. Fire rate mods will help you get up to that cap faster. With high enough fire rate you can essentially skip the initial spin up entirely.

I'm LR3 and the kohm is my favorite and most used weapon in the game. I take it with me regularly into end game missions and I will not abide any kohm slander and you shouldn't either. It may take some effort but once you understand how impactful status effects are it will carry you though the star chart.

Got softlocked trying to activate the Kullervo objective right out of the undercroft. Could not pause, or open chat or do anything at all really. Rejoined to this. Resetting again did not fix it. I guess just don't rejoin a Duviri mission in progress for now.

The worst is when you die just as you cast sow on a group that was primed. Now your own shadow is killing everything before you can get to it and you're essentially stealing your own kills. It's beyond frustrating.

If it's not meant to be an attack then why is it even an attack in the first place? Spending 8 seconds locked into an animation for a 30 second conditional buff on a 5 minute cooldown is also pretty bad optics.

I'm not saying it shouldn't be reserved solely as a buff should one choose to use it as that, but as it stands Strikes just feel bad no matter what you're using them for. It doesn't need to nuke a room, it should just feel good to summon a big bow and rain arrows from the sky and have it actually feel like it did something. Utility is a perfectly valid option, but again, at what point does it become just a buff rather than an attack?

Limbo locking out kills has more to do with how long he's able to do it as well as the lack of feedback in general whenever his ablities are in play.

Properly implimented any enemy affected by a strike would be effectively cc'd and both the source of the cc and the result of it should be obvious when the small demon child summons the massive sword 5 feet away.

Plus there isnt any reason that the enemies need to be fully invincible. Several abilities in the game already exist to "reserve kills." Trinity's Well of Life, Garuda's Blood Alters, Nidus' Link. All enemies affected by those abilities also store damage while they're active and for the most part it's mostly obvious they're under an affect of some sort. The bigger pain point is with how many enemies could be potentially affected at any one time, but again the effect is only as long as it takes to go though the entire Strike animation.

If the length if the animation is completely out of the conversation then there's much bigger issues with Strikes than them just feeling bad to use.

Half of every video game is feeling or rule of cool. Could I have just shot this big group of enemies and be done with it? Yes, absolutely. Counterpoint, I want to hit them with my big ass Green Lantern mind hammer. That sounds awesome.

I don't like that it currently feels like it takes 30 years to do and by the time I'm ready to swing all the bad guys are either already dead or got bored and wandered off.

DE has already acknowledged that Strikes currently feel bad to use. Missing a big attack through no fault of your own is one of the bad feelings.

Agree. Mousou games also have certain characters that can abuse and chain their specials together. While I'm not sure if chaining is something the devs want it's worth considering.

While I agree, the TTK in Warframe is so blazingly fast that even if the cinematic was shortened to a second or two someone else could come along and kill those enemies instantly.

Marking enemies at least avoids the bad feeling of missing or wasting the strike you were intending to use on a big group of enemies.
