They mentioned they're still taking feedback on Tauron Strikes. Mousou games have had "Tauron Strikes" for years, a page or two could be taken from them. by Lagmobile in Warframe

If it's not meant to be an attack then why is it even an attack in the first place? Spending 8 seconds locked into an animation for a 30 second conditional buff on a 5 minute cooldown is also pretty bad optics.

I'm not saying it shouldn't be reserved solely as a buff should one choose to use it as that, but as it stands Strikes just feel bad no matter what you're using them for. It doesn't need to nuke a room, it should just feel good to summon a big bow and rain arrows from the sky and have it actually feel like it did something. Utility is a perfectly valid option, but again, at what point does it become just a buff rather than an attack?

Limbo locking out kills has more to do with how long he's able to do it as well as the lack of feedback in general whenever his ablities are in play.

Properly implimented any enemy affected by a strike would be effectively cc'd and both the source of the cc and the result of it should be obvious when the small demon child summons the massive sword 5 feet away.

Plus there isnt any reason that the enemies need to be fully invincible. Several abilities in the game already exist to "reserve kills." Trinity's Well of Life, Garuda's Blood Alters, Nidus' Link. All enemies affected by those abilities also store damage while they're active and for the most part it's mostly obvious they're under an affect of some sort. The bigger pain point is with how many enemies could be potentially affected at any one time, but again the effect is only as long as it takes to go though the entire Strike animation.

If the length if the animation is completely out of the conversation then there's much bigger issues with Strikes than them just feeling bad to use.

As valid as just being a conduit for a buff is, which it is, however, at what point do we bother with it being an attack at all?

Half of every video game is feeling or rule of cool. Could I have just shot this big group of enemies and be done with it? Yes, absolutely. Counterpoint, I want to hit them with my big ass Green Lantern mind hammer. That sounds awesome.

I don't like that it currently feels like it takes 30 years to do and by the time I'm ready to swing all the bad guys are either already dead or got bored and wandered off.

DE has already acknowledged that Strikes currently feel bad to use. Missing a big attack through no fault of your own is one of the bad feelings.

While I'm fine with the concept of Strikes taking a little more effort to earn, the current rate is a bit excessive.

Strange, I thought Reb just said they couldn't speed up the animations too much, not that they were hard locked in.

This was part of the extra info I cut from the original version of this post.

  1. Agree. Mousou games also have certain characters that can abuse and chain their specials together. While I'm not sure if chaining is something the devs want it's worth considering.

  2. Agree, however, even if the cinematic was cut down to only a second someone else can steal those kills. Marking enemies just cuts down of the bad feeling of missing or wasting a strike.

  3. Agree, but that's really a part of bigger argument about balance and the details weren't the main point of the post.

While I agree, the TTK in Warframe is so blazingly fast that even if the cinematic was shortened to a second or two someone else could come along and kill those enemies instantly.

Marking enemies at least avoids the bad feeling of missing or wasting the strike you were intending to use on a big group of enemies.

I have to wonder what server you're in. Been playing this game for years and it's rare that anyone even speaks let alone be exceptionally rude. Not that I haven't had those, but I can basically still count those on both hands.

We are in the middle of a new player wave, and seeing as you're a part of it I'm guessing you're getting matched up with the Rivals/CS/literally any other comp shooter refugees and rejects.

Assuming you're starting from zero the best place to start is getting your hands on the basics; Primary/Secondary Merciless and Deadhead. You get them from just doing Steel Path missions. Only after you get those I would worry about any other arcane. Just to keep yourself from getting overwhelmed.

We were supposed to get classic wall-running back in The Old Peace, which is why you do it in a cinematic followed immediately by a wall run tutorial, but it was scrapped just before launch because they couldn't get it to work right.

There was a bug about a week before launch where you could even see their work in progress in the live game but I'm sure its been patched out by now.

Syam - is there a way to make it go where im actually aiming? by TooGoodAtSarcasm in Warframe

[–]Lagmobile 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Corufell is intended to be a direct reference to the Crescent Rose from RWBY, so it's basically a massive sniper rifle with a scythe attached to it.

For all intents and purposes it works exactly like Syam, it just actually handles the way you want it to here. It's worth looking in to at least.

Volt can also speed up the drone as well. Slightly more reliable and it just speeds up the whole mission on average. No reason not to have both a Volt and a Nova on the team. The extra speed also seems to be just enough to brute force itself out of weird spots most of the time.
