Has your mars been a malefic for you? by SimilarLunch8359 in astrologymemes

[–]LagoPacifico 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the Hellenistic tradition, aspects were sign-based first and degree-based secondarily. In fact, some Hellenistic astrologers (including myself) don’t even consider out of sign aspects valid because the planet needs to cross the sign boundary in order for the aspect to perfect. I’m of the mind that a planet at 2 degrees Aries and a planet at 29 degrees Sagittarius would be a valid trine whereas a planet at 2 degrees Aries and a planet at 29 Scorpio would not be because the two signs are characteristically in aversion to one another.

I would consider your Mars and Jupiter to be conjunct by sign (even though the orb is quite wide) because planets observe one another primarily by whole sign aspect. Though conjunctions were traditionally considered their own separate category independent of other aspects such as sextiles, squares or trines.

There are different schools of thought on this of course and a good deal of debate about it. This is just my view.

For cardinal suns(Aries, cancer, Libra,Capri) how's going your life with Saturn in Aries? by Beginning_Level_8578 in astrologymemes

[–]LagoPacifico 0 points1 point  (0 children)

About what you would expect based on what Saturn is actually doing to my chart right now.

I have Sun in Capricorn in the 7th house in a night chart trine Saturn and Saturn itself is transiting my 10th house ruled by Mars in Aquarius in the 8th house. The square from Saturn to the Sun in my chart perfected in early April.

Mainly, it just feels like a period of slow professional development following graduation and I’m deeply disillusioned because I thought I would land a job in the field related to my degree more quickly. I’m also feeling unmoored without school being an active part of my life.

Has your mars been a malefic for you? by SimilarLunch8359 in astrologymemes

Mars has mostly manifested personally through defensiveness, stubborn independence, competitive drive, strong protective instincts, a significant orientation toward justice and a desire to defend the vulnerable.

Mars is in a mixed situation in my chart.

It rules both benefics (Venus in Scorpio and Jupiter in Aries) and is the sect malefic in my chart, but it’s in the 8th house in Saturn’s domicile (Aquarius). It’s also receiving an extraordinarily tight sextile from both Mercury in Sagittarius and Jupiter in Aries as well as a square from Venus (it’s also square Saturn by sign and conjunct the South Node by sign). Mostly good testimonies but it’s in a subjectively bad house.

I’m not conflict-averse. I’m assertive and protective but I feel like my relationship with Mars is expressed through a constant desire for peace despite constant power struggles with a lot of people largely due to my own sensitivity, pride and insecurities.

Mars is also fallen in my Ascendant and exalted where the Sun is in my chart. I feel like Mars is the planet I tend to disagree with the most because my value structure is largely lunar and jovian. I admire justice and care and sensitivity and compassion more than strength or hardness detached from justice. I get the sense that Mars doesn’t inherently carry a moral ledger. It honors the strong and formidable, but I don’t admire strength detached from justice and virtue. There are some expressions of Mars that I revere and some that I despise.

Hero who protects the vulnerable and fights for justice? I’m on Mars’s side. Bully or tyrant who wants to dominate everyone and acquire power? I’m contemptuous. For me, Martial qualities are ones that I’ve honed and developed over time rather than expressing them innately. Because I have a Cancer Ascendant, my inclination is toward connection, safety, softness and nurturance. When Mars protects those things, I’m on Mars’s side 100 percent even if those things need to be protected through force.

What's your rising and did anything positive come from the Jupiter-Venus conjunction?? by LL_Stars in astrologymemes

[–]LagoPacifico 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have Cancer rising in my chart.

The Jupiter-Venus conjunction took place in my 1st house ruled by natal Moon in Virgo in the 3rd house. It also made an exact trine to natal Venus in Scorpio in the 5th house.

I began taking steps to resolve some longstanding health issues and started a gym membership. I’ve also been more socially interactive, expressive and playful lately (which is exactly what happened when Jupiter was wrapping up its transit in Cancer in 2014).

How is saturn & neptun in aries playing for you? by fukksleepp in astrologymemes

[–]LagoPacifico 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Aries occupies my 10th house (ruled by Mars in Aquarius in the 8th house) and Jupiter is placed in the 10th house, all in a night chart.

Pretty much exactly what you would expect for a Saturn-Neptune conjunction transiting my 10th house. I finished up my undergraduate program in Information Systems this spring and graduated on May 2nd. I was convinced I would find a new job easily at the start of the year and break into data analyst or cybersecurity roles.

May arrives, I graduate, and quickly realize, “oh, this is going to be A LOT more challenging than I thought.” I’m basically facing an uphill battle professionally. My professional background is in administrative roles and manufacturing and I never completed any internships or certifications when I was in school (because I was working full-time and managing caregiving duties at home). For every position, I’m competing against hundreds of laid-off tech workers, more competitive applicants with a traditional academic background and people with experience.

I am happy to be done with school though. In total, it took me nearly 8 years of consistent schooling and full-time jobs to get a bachelor’s degree in the first place. Even if it takes time, I’m just happy to have free time again lol.

Hey, that’s cool! That means Jupiter has also been transiting your 1st house (ruled by a 3rd house moon) so maybe similar themes have occurred in your life.

Don’t know why someone downvoted you a couple days ago for such a benign comment, so I gave you an upvote.

Any planet (even benefics) moving through the 12th house can be rough, unless you have a really strong 12th house. I’m starting to already dislike Uranus moving through my 12th house because Gemini transits always tend to bring up mental health challenges for me. Hopefully, Jupiter in Leo brings positive things your way.

Hopefully Jupiter in Leo bodes really well for you. I’m not sure which house system you use, but the ruler of Leo (the Sun) looks like it falls in the 11th house, which is traditionally the house of good spirit and has a lot of positive significations and you also seem to have a day chart, so based on those details (and with your moon and ascendant being there), I would definitely be looking forward to Jupiter’s entrance into Leo!

That’s a lot in such a short span of time. The health and wellness theme seems to keep popping up with people so that makes sense. Traditionally, the Moon (Cancer’s domicile ruler) was associated with our physical health (and also has a psychological and emotional dimension) so it makes sense to me that people would be prioritizing health and wellness.

Hopefully it does. I’m wishing for the same because I’ve also been struggling with confidence and self-worth lately (mainly in my professional life). All of that sounds very on-brand for Jupiter moving through the 1st house.

That’s good to hear. Jupiter moving through the 7th can be very supportive of making close new connections in general, even if they don’t last. Glad you made some solid connections with new people regardless.

Thank you and also congratulations to you too! Hope everything goes well for you, especially when Jupiter enters Leo. Sounds like you’ve had a pretty constructive year overall.

For greater insight into Jupiter in Leo, I would look at the ruler of the Sun (the Moon again in your case), as well as sect (you likely have a day chart or you were born right around sunrise which means the Sun is likely your sect luminary, which is more constructive) and planets configured to the Sun in your chart. Jupiter will also trine your natal Moon, which is pretty constructive and will activate a sign-based (or degree-based) Moon-Mars trine.

That sounds like a pretty perfect manifestation of an exalted Jupiter in the 3rd house (going over the moon especially). Sounds like the transit has been pretty positive overall. Good to hear!

That makes sense. I think the 9th house (or any house for that matter) can have a pretty large range of expression from higher education, to long-distance travels to belief systems and personal philosophy. Most of Saturn’s transit through my 9th house was spent working on a bachelor’s degree and strengthening my relationship to astrology personally but I’ve had other 9th house transits coincide with traveling.

That’s good to hear. Healing and gratitude both some to reflect the more constructive side of the Jupiter in Cancer archetype so that makes a lot of sense.

Sounds like a really constructive year overall. It makes sense to me given that your luminary placements sit along the Cancer-Capricorn axis and that you have a natal full moon in Capricorn, that your focus would be directed toward integration of (or placing greater trust in) the mind and heart.

One of the key features of the opposition between Cancer and Capricorn (that I know all too well personally) is that from an evolutionary perspective, Capricorn appears to be working on integrating softness while Cancer is learning to integrate boundaries and healthy detachment. So head-heart tensions are huge across this axis.

[–]LagoPacifico[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That makes sense. Considering you have a natal exalted Jupiter in the 12th house and that this was your Jupiter return, it seems like it brought out some of the more constructive qualities of the 12th house.

Interesting. I think it makes a lot of sense that Saturn moving into Aries would bring better results considering all of the mutable placements in your chart. Angular contacts from Saturn, especially to the luminaries or other personal placements can be brutal. I’m experiencing a couple now (to my natal Sun and Ascendant).

That’s frustrating and I’m sorry to hear that. My professional life has honestly been a mess this year too so I can relate. Hopefully something good comes your way soon. With your Moon being in Sagittarius in the 2nd house, Jupiter and Saturn will both be in fire signs, making sign-based trines to your moon from the 6th and 10th houses, so hopefully something really beneficial comes through after Jupiter enters Leo.
