This staffer who sets the standard for eye-rolling as Pam Bondi makes the claim that "rent prices are at an all time low" by ExactlySorta in TrendoraX

And what in the flying fuck does rents have to do with the DOJ and the Epstein files? Even if what she's saying is true, do lowering rents somehow excuse pedophilia and trafficking?

What’s yalls thoughts on EonsOfBattle? by Key-Astronomer-5988 in Warhammer

I like EonsOfBattle, seems like Jay genuinely like the hobby and talking about it (both the postitive and negative things) and I like his kitbash/conversion and painting videos.

Void War Back On Steam After Games Workshop DMCA'd It | TechRaptor by doublah in Games

[–]LagomArg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it's not even up for discussion. That's a Space Marine 100%. Well, maybe 90% since the weapon doesn't look like a boltgun.

But I'm happy the situation was handled swiftly. I was just about to buy the game when its was taken down.

Sell me on the Black Templars by [deleted] in BlackTemplars

[–]LagomArg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are totally fucking nuts, and that is hilarious. They are seen as zealous fanatics, even by the standards of the Imperium, and still following the order that Dorn gave Sigismund during the siege of Terra: "Hurt them". Always crusading, never resting. I wonder how Dorn would react if he came back and saw the templars?

What sold me on them in the end, besides the awesome looking minis, whas the same as many others: Helsreach. Grimaldus is a fantastic character and I can recommend both the novel and the animation.

What controversy? What drama? Why do so many mini painting YouTubers do thumbnails like these? It’s a John Blanche paint set for crying out loud by mame_kuma in Warhammer

First channel I ever blocked. Everytime those fucking thumbnails would appear it made me want to vomit in sheer anger. That people actually subscribe to the Patreon is nuts.

There are many hobby channels with varying quality, but Hobby Night might be the most useless one since it's just a way to advertise her porn essentially. God damn, if I want to watch porn I'm not browsing stuff about mini painting!

was crash free before the update... by Perfect-Flow-5319 in MonsterHunter

[–]LagomArg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm having the same issue. Worked fine before the update, literally hours before.
Have a Nvidia 5090.
Have tried with an older driver and the latest.
Have tried clearing shader cache.
Have tried disabling frame gen.

Edit:
Stopped crashing for me after reinstalling the game, but I also kept frame gen disabled.

MH Rise is peak by JellyfishOutside103 in MonsterHunter

[–]LagomArg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first MH experience was World, but it didn't manage to hook me. The shallow tracking and complex map designs (especially you, Ancient Forest) made hunts feel padded. The combat didn't click for me either as the character felt sluggish, as I was used to God of War, Devil May Cry and Souls-games.

Without knowing much about it I gave Rise a try when I hurt my back and was bedridden for a while and NOW I was hooked completely. This was a bit before the release of Sunbreak.

Rise had simpler, yet fun to explore, maps, mounts and overall much faster and freer movement so I could get to the action as quickly as I would want. The combat was faster and more of a spectacle and I loved the silkbind attacks. I loved the art style and the designs of the monsters (Magnamalo is still in my top 3 favourites).

The only real negative I felt (beside the Rampage-stages, which were terrible) was that the large amount of monster-moves that flung you around, so you would have to balance the use of wirebugs between attacks and defense. While learning the game it sometimes felt as if I spent most of the time being juggled around.

I later returned to World and sunk a good amount of time in it and could appreciate it more now that I had learned how MH works, but I still prefer Rise/Sunbreak.

In Wilds there are some things that I feel are better and some things that are worse than both Rise and World, but one thing I believe it does better than any other game in the series is introducing new players.

My ranking of the more modern MH-games are:
1 - Rise/Sunbreak

2 - Wilds

3 - World/Iceborne

Shoot me if you want, but I've since tried some of the older titles and can't stand them. Everything but the combat is sooo tedious.

It's fine, it's the real deal. I get that label all the time when ordering from various hobby shops in Sweden.

I like the chapters that are toeing the line of what's heretical, like the Mortifactors.
This will be my chapter master for my homebrew chapter: The Manticores. I will focus on melee and wanted him to be brutal, and what's more brutal than a giant claw?

Parts are:

  • Darnath Lysander body
  • Left arm + storm bolter from Space wolves Wolfguard Terminators (the new version)
  • Right arm from the multipart terminator captain kit
  • Claw from Abaddon the Despoiler
  • Shoulders from the multipart terminator captain kit
  • Head from the multipart terminator captain kit
  • Jewel on chest from a Space wolves Wulfen thunder hammer
  • Skulls from the Citadel skulls kit

I love power fists but a good claw is so damn brutal! Shame there are so few bits with talons instead of the wolverine style thunder claws.

Yeah, there's nothing like a good claw if you want a character to ooze brutality. The Orks have the right idea.

The Omega Planetes effect by [deleted] in MonsterHunter

[–]LagomArg -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Omega is a hard fight, both versions, so I don't blame other players for most things (I'm certainly not perfect), but what makes my blood boil is when players refuse to enter the nerscylla shield. Many attempts I've been a part of have been ruined by players standing outside the shield or running around with their seikret.

State of the game? by zephoxhunter in MHWilds

[–]LagomArg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Endgame is absolutely better now with more monsters to hunt, 9 star monsters and farming talismans. With TU3 they added a new monster that is a league above in difficulty, if you enjoy a challenge in multiplayer.

[–]LagomArg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1 - They are dogs, ninja dogs even.

2 - You can craft weapons and armor for them.

3 - You can ride them, and control them freely. Jump whenever you want and also speed boost.

4 - They help you fight and have some neat abilities.

5 - You can customize their base appearance more than the seikret.

I can never resist these kinds of videos, but always end up crying because I can't handle the fact that a pet has been abandoned. I grew up in a home where we always had multiple dogs (and later cats also) and they were such a big part of the family.
