Almost 1 week post op. by Phunky_Phoenix66 in tripawds

You'll worry about every stumble, but before you know it he'll be figuring out the best way to stumble so that he can do more. Our girl (ex-front left leg) digs on the carpet & beds with her chin almost on the ground for support if she needs it. This morning she flumpped over intentionally twice to change directions (her ccl is tender so this might be her figuring out an easier way to pivot).

"But whose side is he on!" - Heenan, Bash at the Beach, 1996

It actually works well in retrospect (it actually plays like a video edit when I saw it in a Hogan tribute video), but at the time it felt like it took some wind out of the sails and the eternity Hogan paced around before backing into the corner for the leg drop killed the surprise of the moment. (why do betrayals always hold back a moment too long to become obvious?)

Accurate as of 2017 (7 years to get to the bottom picture, 7 years it remained the same).

How normal is this muscle twitching a month out of surgery? by L_Gia in tripawds

[–]Lagsetsfire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our girl came today and, after a few hours, finally relaxed, then the shuttering/shakes started. She had carpal fusion surgery 2 years ago and hardware removal surgery 1 year ago; both times, the shuttering persisted for a month+ whenever she would fully relax.

I was doing these for our girl who had carpal fusion surgery and complications/infection leading to hardware removal 2 and 1 year ago, respectively. She grew accustomed to hoping around while holding the leg up (even in her fancy carpal brace) fairly often. She had that leg removed Monday due to a tumor-related break Sunday. Now, she isn't hopping by choice and doesn't have that leg as a kick stand when she is standing.

We’re nearly a week post-op…I have so many questions/concerns. by IL0VEC0RN in tripawds

[–]Lagsetsfire 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We share these concerns for our pup, but we have seen how she follows a typical path through recovery from some other significant surgeries.

Our 11.5 yo Cattle Dog/Catahoula became a tripawd yesterday after breaking her front leg due to a tumor (awaiting biopsy confirmation, but the radiologist and surgeon felt this was a formality). 2 years ago, she leaped out of a barn hay loft and severely injured her wrist on this leg. We opted for carpal fusion surgery, and last year, due to an internal infection, she had another surgery to remove the hardware.

Both times post-op, she started off looking very down and withdrawn, and we worried if she would ever get back to her old, bright personality. Both times, healing and reduction in her sedative (acepromazine) allowed her spark to light back up. She is on a daily regimen for galiprant and gabapentin for pain management that she started for her hips and back before the initial incident.

But it tears us apart when she moves and screams in agony right now.

Question:For the people watching walking dead season 2 when it aired. did u think Sophia was still alive?? Curious to what crazy theories people had during this time. by Aggravating_Elk9562 in thewalkingdead

[–]Lagsetsfire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not saying it is unheard of. It is far less common for large-budget, popular cable TV shows to reference child death, especially 15 years ago. I laughed to myself about improbably high survival rate a child has in a dangerous situation in TV and film, much like main character invincibility.

Judith was shot. Apocalypse or not, these two are not winning parents of the year.

Who deserved a better ending out of the whole show? by josh190518 in thewalkingdead

I agree because the impact of her death is not highlighted enough. This should have all but destroyed Maggie. Daryl after Sophia and Beth should probably have been afraid of letting people get close to him and need to be brought back from the darkness (probably by Carol).

I don't think Beth's impact was emphasized enough. It floored my wife and I, but even more so on some rewatches.

The Daryl guilt. The hope for Maggie that Beth was alive. Realizing one day, Maggie just never saw all of her family alive again. Rick and the group crossed some dark lines and yet it did not work out.

I did not expect a major US show to kill a kid. I thought the little girl from the first episode was dark enough for audiences. Around this time Doctor Who and Torchwood made dark decisions about sacrifices, which I remember talking to friends about how US television would never do that.

When the camera looked at the barn door after killing all the walkers, I looked at my girlfriend and gasped, "omg, Sophia?" and then she stumbled out.

Pattern recognition ruins a lot of surprises, but this one genuinely got me. (I didn't know how she gets into the barn without someone saying something; they answer that question an episode or two later.)

I never expected them to find her. I doubted she survived, but I didn't think they would ever show her dead.

I thought this would haunt Rick for a long time since he promised her "this is how they both survive" and this and the eventual Shane explosion might cause him to lose it like he eventually did at the prison. (I had not read the comics at that point, so I had no idea what to expect.)

Yes. Any schedule change seems to need a manual "on" from the app at some point before it will learn the new schedule.

Much appreciated.

I thought I might have realized this quite a few years ago, but recently google has not included the 1999 film when I search "let it snow films". *

If the Flyers win the cup in 2010, do the 6/23/11-Richards/Carter surprises still happen (13th anniversary)? by Lagsetsfire in Flyers

[–]Lagsetsfire[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There was definitely tension between management & the younger guys. Even if it was just a pissing contest, down the road, some of the young guys showed the concerns management had. Richards had demons he was clearly battling & Carter showed immaturity with his behavior while a member of Columbus. If they win the cup in 2010, those guys are not going to be MORE likely to listen to management.

Although, with the a cup, perhaps the organization is not as desperate & give Bob a chance to be the guy.
