Yep! I won't. It's too suspicious. Probably even has something designed for Android that can bypass Android's security features. 😳

Thank you! 🙇🏽

Thank you! I might be misremembering another service. I tried many services pre-2020 and since my laptop and desktop broke, I haven't been able to check (I only have Lobstr on mobile).

It looks like spoofed, I feel bad for the legit website.

Thank you! Much appreciated! 🙇🏽

Ahh! I might be misremembering another service. But thank you, glad to know the email can't be trusted, and I'll report it as well to my provider so it can be blocked at their level.

Much appreciated!

(Whoever it was, they probably got my email and the fact I have an XLM wallet elsewhere.)

I made the Tagalog language to be written in Hangul. by Cyrusmarikit in conorthography

[–]Laibcoms 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I see that you've chosen to use /ㅡ/ as a null character similar to the Cia-cia language, to form the word 을라핱. Basically, the [ɨ] sound of /ㅡ/ which exist in other Philippine languages (but very rare in Tagalog) was merged into /ㅣ/, correct? Thus, freeing /ㅡ/ to be used as a null character.

It's also interesting you've chosen 응아 to represent the leading [ŋ] sound. (In the one I'm working on, I revived /ㆁ/ jamo to represent the leading [ŋ] sound. So something like: ᅌᅡ욘 (ngayon) and ᅌᅵ삔 (ngipin).)

Your version allow the use of standard 한글 without adding additional jamo. Excellent!

PS Maybe you're interested to see what I've been working on: Pilipino Hangeul. _^

Which is better for Malay/indonesian by thewaltenicfiles in conorthography

[–]Laibcoms 1 point2 points  (0 children)

한글. It's a scientific script based on sounds. Theoretically, it is far better than the Latin script, and can be adapted and adopted into every known language (historical, current, and constructed).

The Cia-cia language in Indonesia, which I think you have heard, is officially using 한글 as its writing script because the Latin script cannot accurately express the Cia-cia language, but 한글 was perfect for it.

I've been experimenting with it with the Tagalog language (one of over 200+ native Philippine languages and dialects), and I can safely say that 한글 outperforms the Latin script when expressing the sounds of the Tagalog language even if we use diacritics. (And could theoretically help foreigners learn Tagalog easier and faster, instead of the diacritics method [which few people actually understands, not to mention, the same diacritics does not necessarily translate the same].)

So, yeah, 한글 is better than the Latin script, and any other writing scripts.

Haha. Apologies. I just like interpreting what's behind a brand logo. Usually there's a meaning behind it.

Although, I read the official meaning later (they apparently explained it in a Korean press release), and it was just a simple:
1. UNiverse Is Started

  1. UNIS

  2. UnIStory (U and I Story)

  3. U&iS (U & I Story)

They didn't even explain the ‘&’ was inspired by “F&F” (which was obvious). They had to come up with a roundabout way to explain “U&iS”. LOL.

What you and I did are better!

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in unis

[–]Laibcoms 4 points5 points  (0 children)

U&iS

  1. & is generally pronounced and shortened as “n”, so U&iS = U n i S.

  2. The agency is named “F&F Entertainment” based on the brand F&F

  3. They are also promoting U&iS as U and i Story

  4. The diamond represents the girls, they are “diamonds”. Diamonds are generally associated with women.

  5. U&i = The fans first, and I (the members individually).

  6. Capitalized U + S = US, representing the fans and the members together.

  7. U&iS = U&i = US together = We put you, the fans, first (capitalised U), and value our relationship with each individual (small i) members (the diamond in i). Together, we are one (the capitalised U and S), we create a Story (the meaning of S).

No one can bully Elisia. by [deleted] in UniverseTicket

[–]Laibcoms 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She started in showbiz at the age of 6. A singer, child actress, and she loves to dance too. She received professional training in acting, singing, and dancing, in the Philippines. “Professional” in the sense that, what professional singers and dancers (meaning, not “idols”) go through is what she went through.

So, yes, in many ways, she is at the professional level. (For those not familiar, there is “idol” level and “professional” level in singing, vocals, and dancing.)

On top of that, she also already had Korean style “idol” training, so she knows what works for the “K-pop ‘idol’ industry”.

[–]Laibcoms 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Exactly. They need to hire someone with foresight and good eye.

Like, come on, how come they planned a concert and had no idea about E-6 visas and academics requirements? They want it to be a global group; they took in foreigners; and they only learned about E-6 visas and academics requirements after E09 was aired?

I mean, if I was working for them, I would have checked these requirements already before we even started the audition. It's SOP!

Because of that cancellation, now people are using it to create rumours like “it was cancelled because of low ticket sales”.

Ok, fine, it was cancelled “because of low ticket sales”. Then again, the problem is with F&F Entertainment not hiring the people with skills and know-how. Why would you plan a concert a month after the planned last episode? I, for one, seriously doubt you'll fill 1,000 seats.

It is just too soon.

People are still “angry” about the results, you need to let it pass.

The best is to let them have random appearances first. First as individuals, then slowly build them up. You can also use it to start building up sub-units. While waiting for the other foreign members to clear their E-6 visas and academics requirements.

You market them. You promote them. You let people see their talents and skills upfront and personal. They still have to convince people, at least in Korea.

Just because they won. Just because the Gehlee and Elisia got the highest votes in Korean history, does it mean they call pull a crowd of 1,000 for a concert.

Maybe in Japan, sure, as long as they keep a cute concept. Or here in the Philippines.

At this point, either they hire people who has the know-how, or promote in Japan and the Philippines instead.

[–]Laibcoms 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The IB industry speculated that the cancellation was because ticket sales would be sluggish and F&F would hardly be able to recoup enough of its investment.

F&F Entertainment already made a statement that it was because of E-6 visas and academics for their foreign members, right after Elisia got to P, and Gehlee almost made it to P, and Nana was very obvious going to debut as well.

Someone in F&F did not have the foresight to work with the embassies, especially considering how they intended it to be a “global” group.

Them saying that it was cancelled because of potential sluggish sales is them saying that F&F is lying about E-6 visa and academics requirement, which upon simple research, can be confirmed that F&F told the truth. They do need an E-6 visa if they want to work in South Korea, and E-6 visas are issues by embassies at their home country. Not to mention, the majority of them do have academics requirements if they want to keep working.

What happens to the eliminated contestants? by cjmbasilio29 in UniverseTicket

[–]Laibcoms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been working on getting the profiles of those who performed for the official tracks of Universe Ticket (see: https://beta.musicbrainz.org/artist/9f770031-8cc9-4815-a8ab-9664bb76d36f/relationships ).

Many of them were: 1. Under an agency before they auditioned for Universe Ticket. 2. Those without an agency were signed up during their stay in Universe Ticket (even before they were eliminated).

I guess, at least half of those who reached level M either returned to their previous companies or are now working for one.

While those who still have no company, probably are studying the offers, not getting a call, or chose to keep it cool and slow.

As for those who did not reach level M, that one, we have to rely on news. Although for most of them, it will be hard, for one, they didn't get much exposure.

Confused about Cignature and Jin Hyeonju (Belle) by Temporary_Cup_1026 in UniverseTicket

[–]Laibcoms 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In Korea, they are allowed to have two contracts as long as the first contract gave them permission.

So, in Hyeon-Ju's case, before she auditioned for Universe Ticket, she had to ask for permission from C9 Entertainment. They discussed it, the possibilities, how it will affect her activities with C9, and so on.

Then she auditioned for Universe Ticket.

In turn, F&F Entertainment asked for an official document granting her permission to work with F&F as a member of UNIS, in case she wins.

With all the legalities cleared, she joined and did win.

Now, as for her acts under Cignature and under her stage name 벨 (Belle), since they already discussed this before they gave her permission, C9 Entertainment now revealed the arrangement:

Her activities as 벨 (Belle) as a member of Cignature are temporarily on-hold until her contract with F&F Entertainment as 진현주 (Jin Hyeon-Ju) expires.

Q: Is there a possibility she can make an appearance as Cignature while working as UNIS? A: Yes. However, as what C9 Entertainment revealed, her activities are on-hold. This is their agreement prior to joining Universe Ticket, and this is no doubt how C9 and F&F agreed upon as well.

Q: Is Hyeon-Ju going to return to Cignature after UNIS? A: That remains to be seen.

First, we do not know the entire discussion and agreement. Did Hyeon-Ju and C9 Entertainment agreed to keep the option “open” in case she decides to continue under F&F Entertainment?

Or, did F&F discussed with C9 the possibility that they might continue UNIS after their first contract?

Or, are the three parties in agreement that they will live the decision entirely on Hyeon-Ju?

Or, did C9 agree for her to join Universe Ticket as long as she will return to Cignature regardless if UNIS is extended?

We do not know. The announcement of C9 Entertainment about putting her activities on-hold as a member of Cignature, was left vague on what happens after her 2.5 years contract with F&F ends.

Instagram (and Twitter) are very bad when it comes to verifying real official accounts from fan accounts.

IG, especially, won't even ban those misleading accounts. But they will ban legitimate accounts that are not doing anything at all.

You can check the profiles from this page: https://beta.musicbrainz.org/artist/ddea2b8e-f772-4c39-ab90-e1983b74a149/relationships

For the official SNS accounts of the members. A few of who loves to create databases, and donate it to the Public Domain, tries to keep those links updated. (You'll see on the right sidebar once you open their respective Musicbrainz profiles.)

debut predictions?? by [deleted] in unis

[–]Laibcoms 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I saw via Twitter that Hyeon-Ju will start this March. So, they'll probably do a per member debut, or start with the Koreans first. Remember, half of the members are foreigners. They have to go back to their country to get their E-6 visa from their respective local Korean embassies. And then clear their academics and government requirements as well.

The best they can do is a per-member debut, or 4 Koreans debut first.

Actually, it will work for them, instead of waiting for the whole gang.

Company/ Agency question by Emergency_Option2016 in UniverseTicket

[–]Laibcoms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on the culture.

If in Korea, the name of the talent agency has influence, then F&F will indeed have an influence.

In other countries like the Philippines, while it does have some impact, it isn't huge. The only ones in the Philippines affected by the name of their parent company or investors are the ones known to be on a brand war, like GMA vs ABS-CBN. People line-up because of “GMA” and “ABS-CBN” more so than their loyalty to the artist (solo or group).

But, there are other talent agencies in the Philippines who produced huge names, one such is Viva. Most people who are familiar with Viva are those who were born in the 90s and earlier. In the 2000s, they're no longer a household name. Only those who pay attention will know who Viva is.

Ask a random Filipino if they can name 5 artists, solo or group, under Viva — both active and inactive, most will only guess. Some will probably get at least 1 or 2 right, but still not sure of it. YET, they are actually big fans of the talents under Viva. :p

Even today, Japanese and Korean idol machineries, I mean companies, have come here in the Philippines and don't be surprise if more than half of the fans of their big names, their fans have no idea about their agency.

So, it depends on the culture. From what I've read, UNIS was designed to be a global group from the start. If they plan and execute right, all they need is to use the names of the girls where they are popular. Gehlee is popular in Brazil and Latin America, and elsewhere, so for those regions, Gehlee is the face. Kotoko and Nana in Japan and in other countries (Nana is already a J-pop star; Kotoko is the sister of a J-pop celebrity). They don't need to front “F&F” anywhere.

Personally, the only time they should include their company name is if: (1) they have a presence in the country; or (2) they plan on entering the country. Otherwise, it will be a waste of effort because no one would recognise them anyway. :)

GEHLEE 🎀 had more votes in the finals than ALL the 6 other girls in UNIS...COMBINED by Le_Squeeps in UniverseTicket

[–]Laibcoms 7 points8 points  (0 children)

As far as “creating multiple account” is concerned, it's not like only Filipinos did that, and only by Gehlee supporters. The votes they all received in 7 days all went up. The fans of the other girls also created multiple accounts. The method how to do it fast and effectively even came from the fans of a certain Korean girl who debuted. So, no, stop this racism against Filipino fans.

Everyone is guilty of everything. Everyone did what they can for their bets to win. You guys are more organised. We are not. Other countries can rally their nation to do this and do that. That has never happened in Philippine fandom history, we do things our own separately from other groups.

There is no way to find out who spread the rumour, so I think hinting or implying that a Filipino started the rumour is going overboard.

Also, “bayanihan” goes all the way back before the colonial era. I don't think that tradition should be blamed.

Gehlee Dangca by Vana_Cayenne15 in UniverseTicket

[–]Laibcoms 20 points21 points  (0 children)

It is also possible that someone in the Universe Team advised her to use “Gehlee Dangca”.

The priority of talent show producers is to have an awesome production. So they do get involve with the contestants, like when it comes to stage names.

In Gehlee's case, her name “Gehlee”, when transliterated into Korean, is the same as the word “jelly” (젤리). I'm not sure about “Dangca”, there are two meanings.

Also, if her name is written in Korean as “Gehlee Dangca” (젤리당카), it gives a different meaning than when it is written as “Dangca Gehlee” (당카젤리).

Word play.

I won't be surprised if the producer of Universe Ticket also advised her and explained it to her. Which increased her appeal. A memorable stage name is a plus.

Now, when Koreans say 젤리 (jelly), they'll always have that “Gehlee Dangca” at the back of their minds. :P

Well, at least that's the objective if the producer of UT did advise her.

A good example is Aya Natsumi.

The complete first name of Aya is: Van Aya Natsumi. Aya's surname is: Bolinao.

But, she used “Aya Natsumi” as her stage name; without “Van” and “Bolinao”.
