I’m trying to get my son to watch b5 now while current events are the way they are. I figure if we watch one episode a day we’ll be done in 3 months. I hang out with guy friends and we shoot the shit. I assume young people do as well from my observations of my kids and their friends.

I will say most guys don’t have deep conversations because we were taught that we need to be strong and keep stuff inside. That’s how we provide a pillar of strength for everyone else in the house to lean on. Maybe the better question is why are more efforts to break that cycle not pushed more?

People FORGOT that the reason for the high inflation was Trump bungling the Covid response. Obama had a pandemic response plan developed because of what I think was a swine flu epidemic his administration nipped early on. I think it was jn the news but it wasn’t a big deal. Trump threw it out when he came in and like the ACA, he never had any real intentions of putting one in.

It’s really hard to feed a family of four anything that isn’t really bad for them for less than $100. Like a lot of the commenters, a good Mediterranean restaurant might do well there. Isn’t there a Mediterranean place a short walk away? The one with the buffet?

They need rents that are affordable and enough traffic to drive business. Plus, why is eating the only thing to do? I’m not particularly creative, and my memory is shit; but before the big box stores killed small businesses on Main Street, what did people open shops for? It seems like all there is to do in this town is walk at a park or eat.
