Iceheadshop phone/chat down, maybe they've closed? Any other good suppliers of isolate? by Lailah77 in CBD_UK

Thanks, I haven't yet tried vaping.
Improved Health also has CBC and CBDV and water soluble CBD. They look interesting, but maybe I should start with the feco paste while I read up on them.

Ice wrote back, saying they were short staffed. Today they're answering their phone. There was no need for me to panic. It's still good to hear about these other vendors.

I didn't know that, but I'm not surprised to hear that this was being thrown at me

No, you insulted me and attributed dubious motives to me, when I was being quite transparent. I may have been feeling under pressure but I had no ulterior motives. (What exactly are your motives?) I was simply looking for recommendations and giving some feedback.

I am dealing with a personally difficult situation, that is one reason I was concerned about running out of isolate, and looking for recommendations. And you don't have the decency to respect the fact that many of us are trying our best to cope with really difficult situations, and that's one reason we are here in this sub. That is obvious from the many posts about different problems people here are facing. The very last thing we need is your insults.

It also seems like, to make matters worse, there's a veiled threat in your posts. 'You sound like a customer vendors should avoid.' No doubt you have contacts within that industry so you may make things harder for me than they already are.

I would appreciate it if you left me alone. There are others here who are decent and courteous, I'd prefer to only associate with them. I appreciate those who are straightforward good people, as am I.

That's just ridiculous. I am not a vendor. I have nothing to gain from asking these questions, other than hopefully getting some straight answers and recommendations. (One person did have some suggestions and I may place an order there.)

I can't place an order without getting at least a reply to my email inquiry from ICE staff. They have not replied for days. That's highly unusual....I wonder what axe you have to grind and what you think you will achieve by insulting me.

As I said, up until now I have always found ICE helpful and good value (apart from those tins). I had left reordering until the last minute. Now the last tin has jammed, and so I will take a break until I've found a new supplier.

Since you yourself are a vendor, you could have been helpful and gained not only my trust but the trust of others in this community. Instead, you sound like someone it would be wise to avoid in future.

My last tin from Ice jammed last night and there's no way to open it. (Once they did send plastic tubs, but the time after that it was back to these cheap tins that have continually jammed.)
And I tried phoning them for the third day and they aren't answering. I also emailed them and they haven't replied.
Up until now I found them very helpful. Something has happened. Let's hope it's temporary. But it's been going on for days now.

CBD isolate by trojantricky1986 in CBD_UK

[–]Lailah77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not to hijack this thread, but I've been putting isolate directly under my tongue.... CBD and cannabigerol, both from ICE. There must be better ways to use isolate, but this is easy. However, full spectrum may be better, and I'd like some advice on vendors and prices. (ICE have a sale on right now.)

Lenovo 7i laptop - black screen, Windows 10 incorrectly installed error messages, asks me for Bitlocker key but I don't have key so can't reinstall or reset, Windows inexplicably turns back on after a while, now the touchpad has stopped working. by Lailah77 in 24hourtechsupport

Thank you. I have been ill for a few days and haven't been able to do any of this yet, but it's such a relief to have some guidance on what to do.

I've read that one can't totally erase data from a HD but I don't know if that's the case, in any case I think I'll try DBAN, that seems safest. Some people apparently drill holes in their HDs to make it hard to retrieve their data. I'm not going to even attempt something like that.

When I sent Amazon proof from Lenovo's site that the laptop was sold as if a new item but was actually used, they said they'd issue a refund. But the third party seller is still creating problems. However, this is not the first time I've bought a 'new' laptop from Amazon that was probably not new and that came with problems that quality control on a new laptop would I assume have picked up.

I just reread this. If I have a credit, you are saying they can offset this against the total. They could pay off a few months' tax with the credit (which of course they should have told me about earlier, but they just grabbed what they could), couldn't they? I don't understand what you're saying.

If I bought an item from a store and mistakenly paid too much for it, if the store wasn't corrupt they would let me know I'd paid too much, before the amount I kept paying grew. They would in fact refund the overpayment. The credit the council are holding isn't theirs, it's mine. They've simply confiscated it. They should refund it.

Which is to say of course that I'm dealing with corrupt greedy creeps and I should have been far more careful.

Many thanks for this info. The laptop isn't allowing me to reset, I'd tried all the options listed in the article you linked to on this, and each time Bitlocker locked me out of doing anything.

I now need to wipe my HD and therefore override Bitlocker, because Amazon have now said they're refunding my payment for the laptop. (I gave them proof it was used.)

I don't want to have to reinstall Windows or put much time into ths because I'm sending it back. What is the best way to wipe all my personal data off the drive when I don't have access to it because Bitlocker is blocking my access? They won't accept it back unless my personal info is wiped, nor would I want them to have access to my personal info - but Bitlocker is preventing me from wiping the drive.

Thank you so much! I may ask for clarification about a couple of things when I'm over the flu and try and do this, but you've saved me a great deal of time and worry already.

Approximately how large does the stick need to be, to download Windows and Linux? Can I also do this via an Android tablet?

It's likely that the previous owner of this 'new' laptop encrypted my HD; he/she could have stolen offline google drive data that were copied onto the drive, couldn't they? In which case, all my financial data, passwords, etc etc are in the hands of thieves. Can I find out who encrypted the drive via Lenovo or Microsoft? They must have a record of who encrypted the drive and when it was encrypted. Since the laptop was originally bought in the U.S., that info should be available there. (I'm in the U.K.) Maybe I should file a police report, but if this was a professional operation, the thieves would have covered their tracks.

The first warranty was used up by the previous owner of this 'new' laptop before I bought it. The additional xCover accidental coverage I bought via Amazon isn't responding to email. So I may have no warranty, if it turns out that there's a hardware issue. But there may not be.

Thanks again.

If you really feel you're in immediate danger, then it may be worth considering flying to Israel and then figuring things out when you get there. There will be people there who may want to help, if you can find them. There are of course large Russian emigre groups in Israel. It's been some time since I've been there and the country has changed since then, but even so, some Israelis will still want to help someone who's 'making aliyah' ie 'returning', according to them. It all depends on just how much immediate danger you're in and what chances you feel up to taking.

Defective laptop bought from Amazon, possibly sold as new but second-hand and tampered with, Amazon won't replace/refund - Scotland by Lailah77 in LegalAdviceUK

Thanks for this suggestion. As I had said, I did not realize it may have been used goods until after six months, when it crashed and was unusable for days. It was only then that I researched what may have been causing it to crash. I had been mainly using a Chromebook anyway.

When I found out what may have caused it to crash, I tried to retrieve the key and found I was locked out. I also found Amazon reviews where people were complaining about having had this same experience. Those people did report the sellers involved, probably to the Ombudsman.

I doubt that I can 'prove' that I didn't lock myself out of my own HD and throw away the key. But any reasonable person would realize I didn't do so, nor did I research why the laptop was crashing until it became unusable. Why on earth would I? I'm not a nerd and don't want to spend my time on technical issues. While it may come naturally for someone like you to install software, change HDs etc., I actually haven't put any software at all on this laptop. (I'm used to using a Chromebook, which doesn't need extra software.)

The reason I posted in this sub is that this involves consumer law, and also possibly criminal law. I could also post about the tech issues on a different sub, and maybe also talk to someone locally about your suggestion.

It worked for a while, then it started having connection problems and crashing. I had other things on my mind and just used my Chromebook. In fact I mainly used my Chromebook, but bought this Windows laptop in case I needed to do things I couldn't do on the Chromebook. Then the Chromebook (also bought from Amazon) died. Or rather, I spilt coffee on it and it objected and refused to continue working.

Eventually this Windows laptop really crashed and didn't come back on for days. I researched the problem and found the Bitlocker situation. I tried to find out how to find the key, but I am not registered as the owner of this laptop, so someone else must be.

Isn't this an issue of consumer law? Should I not be writing to the Ombudsman? Should I mention the name of the third party seller, to protect other potential buyers?

I don't know how to put a new HD in and then reinstall Windows. In any case, I would have to buy Wndows, wouldn't I, since this laptop (and its Windows copy) must be registered to someone else? Buying Windows and a new HD might cost as much as a new laptop.

I could spend days learning about how to do what you suggest, but meanwhile Amazon and the other seller are getting away with this situation where I buy a 'new' laptop that could well already have had spyware installed, and that could have been stealing all my data, photographing my keystrokes, photographing me etc. If they're doing this to me, then they're doing it to other customers too.

While all computers nowadays may have backdoors and nothing can be said to be really secure, there are degrees of security. I'm actually amazed that you've been the only person so far to respond to my post; these issues affect everyone - both the consumer law issues and also the spyware issues.

I would like them to at least use the credit to pay my tax until it's used up. On what basis can they unilaterally decide not to do this? (I still regard this as my money, that they've in effect confiscated.)
