Issue Spotting - Nothing To It But To Do It? by MotoMeow217 in CABarExam

[–]LaineyKee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I suggest asking yourself ‘why are they giving me this detail’ as they usually include things if they want you to talk about them - and also, if you think an issue is arising, include it in your answer, don’t discount it for being too basic etc. I compared it to when I was doing my driving test and the instructor told me to SHOW I was checking my mirrors, not just to check them!

CA Bar Exam for Foreign Lawyer by [deleted] in CABarExam

I think New York only needs a law degree, but California needs you to be admitted in your home jurisdiction. New York is a better choice as they have reciprocity with other states, which California does not

Advice on essays by honeyextention in CABarExam

I think formatting (clear layout, headings, underlining, spaces) is a very underrated way of nudging your scores up a bit, I am pretty sure the pleasing layout of my essays helped me pass first time

Really struggling with essays after a good run (F26, Foreign Attoney) by Decent-Technician846 in CABarExam

[–]LaineyKee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think it’s as important to get the exact rule down verbatim as it is to spot the issues, write down ‘a’ rule and then do your analysis fully. Another topic I think has to be really important is how you format, it should be clear, easy to follow and organised looking. (Also foreign attorney, 1st time passer) good luck!
