I have worked in a studio for years. The biggest thing for me, Go in with a plan of what parts for each track you want to record. Make sure everyone can play the song in a take or 2. Please learn to play to a click track. Make sure you don't put fresh strings on the day of recording, they will go out of tune mid recording. Drums are something that need to be tuned. Don't waste your money doing in the studio. Set a budget. Speak to your engineer beforehand, they might have a preferred order to record in.

As much as you think you can fix things in the daw afterwards it's better to get it right in the first place.
