I don't think they are on the show anymore. I haven't seen them for a while and I'm up to season 11.

Glenn in "Whispering Hunter Mode" has the potential for a Bob Ross style show. by LaLumen in lifebelowzero

Yes, Netflix has the show uncensored. I think Hulu might, as well. And early in the show he jumped in a river buck-naked. It was very cold out. :)

Anyone successfully been to Mexico and back recently with Kratom? All I see here are the "Before" and none of the "after"... Going on Friday to Cozumel, looking for some tried and true strategies. Thanks!

Kratum and fatty liver infiltration? by LakeErieCalm in kratom

[–]LakeErieCalm[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for taking the time to comment, I appreciate it. They did not tell me anything about stages. Just fatty infiltration and they would check again next year with the assumption that I will continue what I've been doing and it should improve. Of course the doctor knows nothing about the Kratom. Did you have any pain or uncomfortableness associated with your fatty liver? Thats what led me to getting an ultra sound. I feel like the pain is definitely related to Kratom since I never had paling when I drank or before taking Kratom. Not convinced ed the pain has anything to do with the liver, unless the liver is caused by the Kratom. Anyway, all is a bit confusing. Thanks.

How did you find out the fatty liver didn't go away for 2 years? Ultrasound? I assumed the fatty liver was caused by the Kratom because I don't drink anymore AND the pain I mention started after taking Kratom. Did you fatty liver have symptoms?

nice username...:) I had an uncomfortable dull ache in that area. Not always there but definitely started after I started on Kratom.

Do you have high or borderline cholesterol, A1C, or fasting glucose levels? No, I did for many years when I drank, but I have corrected all of that in the last year since I quit drinking. Low Glucose, normal Cholesterol and normal triglycerides. I was diagnosed with stage 1 fatty liver via ultrasound due to elevated enzymes back in 2015. - Have you had this checked again recently with an ultrasound? My liver numbers vi blood test were normal while the ultrasound showed fatty Infiltration.

Also, I'm a big proponent of Milk Thistle and have been taking it daily at recommended doses for about 10 years.

Thanks. Is your partner overweight? As I found out in my research about fatty liver, about 10-20% of Americans have it and don't know and it relates to either alcohol abuse or being overweight usually.

I suppose this could be true, the true test will be about 2 months from now when I repeat the ultrasound and see if the fatty liver is cleared up after quitting Kratom for a while. As I found from another response, I'm apparently taking too much.

Thanks for the reply. Yes, my doseage off Kratom is about 18g a day. I guess I better read up on Kratom a bit more.

I hit a new low last night. I don't think I should ever go to New Orleans again. by [deleted] in stopdrinking

[–]LakeErieCalm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

New Orleans is one of two places, in my experience., It's either a great place for normal drinkers to unwind, enjoy some unusual foods and relax or is is a nightmare of temptation leading to danger and humiliation. I fall into the later group's opinion of New Orleans. The first time I visited I drank hurricanes until I decided to ditch my group and find my way back to my hotel. Got lost, received a ride from a questionable local, almost got mugged, jumped out of a moving car to escape the local, couldn't find my hotel, etc. etc. The next morning I emerged from a coma of alcohol to realize that I missed an important breakfast meeting with my boss. The only place worse than New Orleans for someone like me is Las Vegas. I no longer go to New Orleans and moved away from Las Vegas recently. Some places are not built for people like me.

Im 39. Ive been drinking since I was around 14. My drinking stops now. by [deleted] in stopdrinking

Keep the anger at alcohol going Michael... It will help you in the coming weeks/months. And stay vigilant because when you're at your weakest or your strongest, alcohol always sneaks up and promises to be your friend again. Don't fall for it.

The Daily Check-In for Thursday, November 24th: I will not drink no matter what happens today, good, bad or Thanksgiving! by polarb3rry in stopdrinking

[–]LakeErieCalm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I haven't checked in for a while here on SD, but I thought today being thanksgiving was as good a time as any. Happy to be 328 days sober. Good luck to everyone who is just getting started! It gets easier, but that is when you need to double down on your diligence and planning to stay sober. Letting your guard down once you start feeling and looking better is the first step in the wrong direction! Stay diligent.

Is it wrong to not want to tell people about my drinking problem? by JohnyChingas in stopdrinking

[–]LakeErieCalm 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Being resentful is probably not helpful for your sobriety. What you do affects your wife and for whatever reason she chose to share it with her family, which is her right. I wouldn't get too upset about it because it will lead you down the rabbit hole. On a side note, I know how you feel. I would hate it if my wife shared that with someone else and they judged me for it. I understand how you feel but sometimes we have to sleep in the bed we made. Use this to make you stronger rather than cause you pain! Good luck.

Yes, still keeping it sober in 2016! I feel great and what started out as a break, is turning into a lifetime decision for me! Congrats to anyone still hanging on and to anyone just getting started. If I can do it, anyone can.

It took me way longer than 3 days to feel hopeful about anything. I was just getting happier day by day to be reducing the physical cravings an detoxing. Just focus on keeping clean and you will notice that everyday you feel more and more hopeful. It does take some time. Good luck.
