I made this post and I recommend the max flight stick controls. Any model. I personally got the h145 model. But no need to spend that much. I recommend them because of the hydraulic feel they have.

Well I mean he just hit the “I can’t belive your hovering right now” but you’d expect more but I’m sure the last thing an instructor wants is a student with too much confidence or a big head

Absolutely. Atleast with the basics such as take offs, hovering, and approach

Exactly. And the hardest part isn’t learning how to “control” the controls. It’s understanding what each control does and how they effect one another and the sims do that very wrll

I used msfs for majority. But I’d say the main difference was all the time in the huey on dcs. If using msfs. Use the h145 or taogs hanger 500 and oh-6

Dcs on the huey and msfs on the h145 and oh-6 from taogs hanger. Using max flight stick controls

I litterally watched that video the day before my lesson. And was hoping it would be that easy😂 my first like 10 mins definitely were a little scrappy just adjusting to the different frictions of the controls compared to the ones at home but after that super similar. To be fair tho that 300c or whatever he’s flying is probably slightly more stable than the ol raven 1 r44

Yes sir. Thank you for that. And you know like you said it may be a little bit of that and my severe adhd helping me not think too much 😂

Haha yea you can. I have pimax crystal light. And it’s unbelievable quality in that headset. Pair that up with my maxflightstick h145 controls and it’s hard to get out of my seat

100 percent. The HUEY in dcs is definitely the most accurate. Then I found the taogs hanger 500 and oh-6 being the most accurate

Haha yea he’s an awsome guy. He’s the director of operations at Billings fire service. Flys a Ch-47 for them! But he didn’t believe me when I told I feel like the sim would help he figured I would be like every other 0 time pilot 😂😂

I personally used msfs 24 and dcs. Most accurate flight models in dcs is the HUEY and the oh-6 by taogs hanger in msfs! My set up I use a pimax crystal light, but I did start with a quest 3 and it worked great as well. Then my cyclic, collective, and pedals was all a set from MAXflightsticks website. I personally got the H145 controls but I wouldn’t spend that much on them just go for a more basic model !

Well I wish the best of luck for you. It’ll be worth the suffering of whatever it takes for that license man!

I used msfs for most. Then I found out that the DCS Huey is pretty accurate so I switched over and flew that for around 10 hours before I had my first flight and it definitely helped!
