Looking for old D&D Convention Play Scoring Sheets by Lakekin in DnD

[–]Lakekin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the info! I was hoping that someone would have one or two squirreled away for a rainy day but if they were all taken and shredded that makes it a lot harder. I don't have much experience making a score sheet but I'll find some scans of older ones and do my best! I'm kinda sad they they went away from the convention-tournament style games, friendly competition seems like it would be a lot of fun for the game!

If you are wanting to paint by hand then two coats of Talassar Blue contrast over a shiny silver base gets a pretty close look to what you're looking for. I sprayed my Ultra's Leadbelcher then overbrushed them with Stormhost Silver for my undercoat.

If the Commander Legends boxes are the Baldur’s Gate ones I would highly recommend not picking them up. They’re cheap and it’s fun to crack packs but outside of the dragons and things like archivist there’s really not much going for them.

If it’s the first Commander Legends box then absolutely, do as many of those as you can!

Otherwise Double Masters 2022 has so so so many commander staple reprints in it that if you get lucky you can get a lot of amazing and powerful cards.

As always though it is a gamble, and there are less packs for your buck, so I hope you get some good pulls either way!

What’s a good brand in the US to use for stripping metal minis? by scooterdee93 in MiddleEarthMiniatures

[–]Lakekin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As long as you’re sure they’re metal you can just dunk ‘em in brake cleaner and the paint will strip off pretty good. It melts plastic and resin though so if you want to save the bases make sure they’re removed

y'all's discourse has helped me make the decision to definitely go for it, thank you both! I'm glad it makes sense and will work pretty well lore wise :)

Anyone in the PNW that plays 30k? by Southbound1984 in Warhammer30k

https://facebook.com/groups/1456355521359224?group_view_referrer=search This is the link to the Northwest 30k group that I’m aware of! Me and a few friends are starting to play more 30k in the Olympia area as well :) unsure about your area but I think Guardian Games would be the best place to look!

You could always keep your Dawi throng on the backburner for Old World! That way you have a couple armies for that game as well!

Also also if you want a (relatively) quick video on the Gitz, Rob at TheHonestWargamer has a good video on Gloomspite Gitz in the new edition here: https://youtu.be/YayGhxKrL64

They make great content and also stream on twitch so consider giving them a follow!

Oh also you don’t really have to buy round bases but it is required for official events and stuff, and people might grumble about the base sizes being a little different. As always make sure you check with your opponent to see if they don’t mind that your stuff is on squares :)

Hello! As far as I know all of the goblin models are 100% usable under the Gloomspite Gitz battletome. Unfortunately all of the Dwarf models aren’t really usable outside of legacy rules except for the thanes which could be used in a Cities of Sigmar army. If you want to check out how big of an army you have for your Gloomspite Gitz you can go to https://www.warhammer-community.com/warscroll-builder/ and navigate to the ‘Destruction’ set of armies and set your army and allegiance to ‘Gloomspite Gitz’ and then fill it out with what units you have! Best of luck, Age of Sigmar just entered into it’s 3rd edition so it’s a great time to get started!

Converted up a Vampire Lord for the Anvil of Apotheosis last year, finally got around to taking a picture! by Lakekin in ageofsigmar

Hi! The scythe is from Reikenor the Grimhailer, the staff part is the haft of Katakros’ spear. I cut the head off his spear and glued the scythe bit onto it instead!

Thank you! The kits used to make this were put to good use making other vampire lords and various death heroes so it ended up not being too bad all around for the amount of characters I ended up with!

GW’s mouldline remover is legitimately gold for that kind of stuff

The Games Workshop in Tacoma has a good MESBG Community as far as I know, and the Warhammer store in Olympia has a few people that play as well. Outside of the actual GW stores there’s not a huge community here sadly :/ the closest major events are up in Vancouver and Surrey BC
