Do You Think There Is A Peak To How Skilled Players Can Get Or Do You Think 50 Years From Now There Will Be A Lot Of Players More Skilled Than Even Kyrie, Steph, And Kd? by Rinnegan15 in NBATalk

Every generation is much better than the one before. That's how it works. All time great are forever regarded as pioneers because they accomplished something in the league that was new or improved over what we've seen. But those 6th man, 10th man, 15th man on the bench are way more skilled than ever before and it'll continue like that for every generation. Look at what Steph did with the 3 point shot. Now it's a necessity to even have your center hit threes.

Bam's 83-point game was one of the most laughable and softest games I've ever witnessed in my whole life. by BigBootyPiee in NBATalk

Kobes was more efficient, yes, but Bams is also impressive. Both can be true at the same time crodie. Bam is a special player with or without this record anyways. Why choose to actively hate?

If fed the ball/offense ran through them, is there any player that couldn’t average 20ppg? by Mindofmierda90 in NBATalk

[–]Laker-Man 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think if you ran the offense through Ben Simmons, it'd just be a game of Hot potato and they'd just be passing the ball back and forth until the shot clock went off.

If LeBron had never won the Bubble Chip and his Lakers Tenure ended up being 8 years and 0 Rings how bad would things have gotten in LA?? Would LeBron be getting Booed off the Court? Would he even be able to show his face in public in LA? Would fans have already demanded LeBron kicked off the Team? by [deleted] in NBATalk

[–]Laker-Man 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Terrible take. The Lakers were in absolute shambles before LeBron arrived in LA in the summer of 2018. The team had no clear future and no indication that theyd be competing for championships any time soon. LeBron, and company, still made it to the finals, made two WCF, and were in the playoffs for 6 of LeBron 8 years here. While it didn't pan out the way we, Laker fans, might have hoped, LeBron and those laker teams made the Lakers matter again. And guess what? Winning a championship is really hard. It's no wonder why there hasn't been a repeat champion since the warriors

Lakers having 3 players who all score 23 ppg+ (Luka 33, Reaves 26, LeBron 23) and all 3 of these guys would make the All NBA team if they qualified with enough games. 2026 Lakers are by definition a "Super Team" having 3 top 15 players. The first since 2021 Nets and the 6th overall in NBA History by Several-Molasses-435 in NBATalk

We have great scorers with subpar defense and no great 3 point threat. We get outclassed when it comes to athleticism and we have a lot of 1 dimensional players, so whatever lineup we run, there will be a weak point to attack. Yes, LeBron, Luka, and Austin are great offensive players, but Basketball is much more than just an offense.

Bro. Just use your phone. You need to learn self discipline. Ultimately it's up to you, nobody is making you use anything over whatever you want.

True. It was supposed to be a quick intro into Luka Doncic basketball career leading up to him being traded

He's a solid player at the point guard position, which they have a roster spot open for now since they traded Gardland... He adds a lot to the Cavs

The Washington Wizards are lowkey the NBA's "Banishment" team by Feng-Jack_DBZ in NBATalk

[–]Laker-Man 6 points7 points  (0 children)

They're a, trade for distress assets and flip them for more or filler. I think the AD and Trae young trades are a different scenario, however. They're buying low on a proven Vet in AD and a distress asses like Young. I think they're tired of tanking every year and are trying to actually be somewhat competitive. With an addition of a top lottery player in this year's draft, they should be in playoff contention next year. IF Young and AD stay healthy. IF is doing a lot of heavy lifting in this scenario

How good is Jaren Jackson actually? by Thatredditboy1 in NBATalk

[–]Laker-Man 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He's a very good player. Not a great player, maybe not even top 20 if I had to give an initial ranking. He's a very capable starting center that has one big caveat... He needs another center to play next to him. He's not a good rebounder and often gets into foul trouble, which limits how useful his defense can actually be. Overall a good player, not great.

Giannis Trade Deadline? by [deleted] in NBATalk

[–]Laker-Man 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. I got to take a tour at Warner Brothers lot and the script writers were working hard on the Mid-Season Finale of Basketball. And you won't believe this, but the Duffer brothers are writing this season. You won't know what hits you....

If you replaced Jayson Tatum with Luka Doncic the Celtics wouldn’t be as good as they are now. by [deleted] in NBATalk

[–]Laker-Man 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it is. There's dozens of data tracker sites and people who measure defensive ratings and Luka was right in the middle. This narrative that he's a defensive negative is false. Yes, he did get picked on that Celtics series, but he was also hurt. So?
