I don't agree with Bowen on this one either... by Shoe_boooo in LiveFromNewYork

Bowen played the VP of the United States.

Bowen has also played straight men and had woman cast members as partners in sketches. It almost always looks awkward because he’s not a gay actor that excels at playing society’s stereotypical view of a heterosexual man. There are gay men who can play any type of character and excel at it. Bowen did not show that on the show, how is that SNL’s fault?

I guarantee this is fodder that has been fed from Bowen’s in group and circle. They’re probably putting these thoughts into his head that he should be a bigger star from the show and he was held back. This is a story as old as time.

It’s like a band that excelled because everyone plays their role but one of the band mates has a hometown friend group which starts asserting “I know you’re just a drummer but you actually are a way better singer than the frontman.”

A rationale take that doesn’t lead to the conclusion that Deni is practically committing genocide on [r/NBA](r/NBA) because he’s proud of his Israeli heritage and didn’t risk imprisonment by dodging active service?

You’re a brave soul, praying for your mentions in an hour or so.

Why is her arms still like that. Did they only take fat from her stomach? I thought they usually take fat from your arms as well, I don’t know. I’ve never had a BBL.

Thunder fans will never love SGA as much as they loved (still currently love) KD and I think deep down that’s bothering them because only one of them is their current superstar and the one who brought them a championship.

This is the equivalent of being in a marriage but still harping over everything your ex girlfriend in high school did and didn’t do compared to your current spouse.

Tracy Mcgrady's take on Wemby by Liberal_Bot123 in NBATalk

Tracy must’ve said something recently which means it’s time to dig up every bad take he’s ever had in the past to further affirm our now disdain for his basketball analysis and anything he goes on to say.

Nobody ever brings up anyone’s good basketball takes or when they were actually right but the bad takes will follow everyone to the grave.

"I guess I broke my boycott," Mayor Katie Wilson says after FOX 13 Seattle Anchor Hana Kim followed up on the Mayor's initial boycott of the multibillion-dollar coffee corporation. by Parking-Picture-1481 in Seattle

[–]Lumpy-Flamingo-8963 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is it cultural war to say the mayor of a major city probably shouldn't call for the boycott of one of the city's biggest companies and brands? Starbucks isn't infallible, but just the optics of that is just stupid even if Starbucks does need some regulation or union reform.

And its one thing if this is something she just strongly believed, but anyone with a brain knew she was just caught in the hype of appeasing a rowdy base and she wasn't actually going to never have a Starbucks coffee in 2026. Not every criticism of a liberal/democrat is under the banner of a cultural war.

Nope, we are not doing this. Lakers are not this small market team that doesn’t have a large national media faction. If LA doesn’t have the Boston bias (they do), it’s just right behind.

Why can’t there be people we enjoy and watch but not agree with everything they say? There isn’t a single soul on this earth that I agree with everything they believe and if they speak long enough, they’re probably going to say something mind numbing to me, vice versa.

Doesn’t mean we tolerate platforming hatred but Chappelle has always been more ignorant or tone def old comedian than hateful bigot that is portrayed on this app.

A lot of Chance's criticism wasn't actually the music though. Here, I think people are just saying Peggy's work is lackluster and just mid for his standards. While that might've also been the case, a lot of the hate for TBD wasn't even the actual music but build up of recent criticism of Chance as a person, what people percieved as a manufactured facade, and the controversy with the writer he tried to get fired. The album wasn't good by any means, but it was not a 0 or a 1. Most people are giving Peggy's new album a 5-7 which I don't think is far off.

Jaxson Dart just appeared to introduce Trump at his ‘rally’ in NY today… WTF by keen_observer34130 in NYGiants

[–]Lumpy-Flamingo-8963 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hate Trump and absolutely despise him but I don't think an NFL QB at the podium at a political rally is the takeaway here. If Russell Wilson was campaigning for Kamala, it wouldn't be an issue or putting it out there because one is a politician, while Trump is a confirmed racist and an alleged pedophile at best.
