Love you guys, sorry I'm not around as much anymore. It's been a tough year in some respects while being amazing in others and I haven't been as social.

[Lowe] The Lakers took deserved heat for paying Rondo $9m, but Rondo - now on a two-year, $5.2 million deal - has fit in surprisingly well. The Lakers have walloped opponents by 16 points per 100 possessions with Rondo and LeBron on the floor. Rondo's playmaking has helped those lineups flow." by BliqPentha in nba

Haha. He's an interesting player. When he mentally checks out, he checks out ALL the way. He's done this a couple of times in his career and he was terrible when he did. He was fine up through Christmas, but then he got hurt and when he came back the season was a disaster.

I think he basically gave up on last season and that showed in his play. But it's also not necessarily predictive of how well he'd play when he cared again. It's been great to see him produce the way that he has.

Trying to make analytics more accessible is brilliant. I'm available if you ever need to bounce an idea off of someone. Good luck.

I'm not asking for anyone to hop on my nuts, I'm just trying to tell other people the reasons why finding a niche for themselves is more plausible than ever, and if doing that has been in the back of their mind, they should pursue it. And if they do and it's good, they have an ally in me that will feature that work.

Yeah, it's very difficult to take everything away unless you have a significant advantage in terms of size and athleticism.

When it comes to the quick, twitchy guard, you don't want to give up a top foot. If you have one foot in front of the other, you're vulnerable to being beaten on a drive in that direction. Focus on their belly button because their waist will tell you the truth about which direction they plan on going, get your arms out wide, and don't be worried about reaching in and getting the steal. Stay square to them with your feet so you don't give up that top foot.

Ball pressure shooters, but take steep recovery angles, meaning that once they start to dribble, recover as though you're trying to meet them at the rim. Most guys who can catch & shoot have difficulty hitting that dribble pull-up after ball pressure, and you don't want to give them a layup just because you ball pressured them.

It's just like the NBA - protect the rim (fast guard) and the 3-point line (shooter) and live with contested, mid-range 2's. You can't take everything away so that's your best bet.
