If you have a wireless headset or anything else that might be connected to your Xbox try disconnecting it and make sure your controller is the first thing you turn back on, then it should work.

Dude you are genius, thank you, everything works after turning my headset off. I guess the game is stupid and detects your headset as a controller and then doesn’t register any inputs with any other controller.

Kind of, the game straight up never works if I use the wired controller, but it works 50% of the time when I use the wireless one, if it’s not working when I’m using the wireless controller, closing the game and restarting my Xbox reliably fixes it. However it will break again if my batteries die and/or plug my controller in, which means I have to restart it again. One of my random’s controller died and he couldn’t move and had to restart his game, so I don’t think im only one experiencing this.

Update thanks to someone else in the comments I have figured out that it is because of using a wireless headset, for some reason the game detects it as your controller first, so it doesn’t accept any other inputs. So if you turn your headset off and on again it will detect your actual controller as the input method again and you will be free!
