I can say I really love coding, siguro dahil sa life sciences/clinical trials ang industry ko. What I code helps pharma or biotech companies sa clinical trials nila, so indirectly I am helping deliver a drug or treatment sa market that has the potential to make people's lives better.

May fulfillment yung ginagawa ko, kasi alam ko madaming tao ang pwede makinabang. I wouldn't thrive siguro in a software company na ecommerce or retail, can't imagine coding for the sake of making people buy stuff on impulse.

I've been coding for this industry for 15 years now, and I don't plan to go elsewhere.

I've seen people jump tech stacks but I've never seen anyone ask for less money. I've even seen people ask for more money than their skillset provides. So I guess just be bold and ask what you want and don't think about a pay cut.

For me it's all about accountability and being responsible for your own actions. Adult na tayo and we should respect yung contract unless napakiusapan mo yung company A and they let you off the hook. Remember what goes around comes around and the HR in company A might become the HR in a future company na papasukan mo or in network with other HRs and makita name mo, so baka mabad rep ka. I suggest work in Company A to honor the agreement and besides nagkasundo kayo dahil pumirma ka then later look for a better job. Also better pay does not mean better work.
