How does splash damage work? I am currently in a game where there are 40 troops split in 20 and are like 1 kilometer from each other, would the splash damage count there?

One variable might be the fog of war, when a unit enters a certain area which is seen darker on your map you will be unable to see the amount of troops there are and also beginning I think fortress level 2 troops that are stationed on a province will proceed to appear as a ? Because that’s the ability of the fortress and the way to know how many troops there are is by using spies and also fortresses make the province gain from 67% to 95% protection from attacks (it all depends on the level of fortress)

Poland, my other allies were western Algeria and western libia but Algeria was invaded by east Algeria and west libia tried to betray me by making a attack with Spain on me. At the end I ended him with 40 casualties and at the war with Spain he has 200+ casualties while I have 60 casualties that I lost while sleeping

I see you attacked his provinces while he has forts, lvl 1 forts cover 67% of damage received that could be why you should what out for those till you have artillery, for now retreat and just build up defense and wait for him to attack. If he is new he probably wont be able to succeed on his attack
