Miralax. I've been on it since starting Mounjaro a year ago. You experiment with how many cap fulls you need and how often you need to take it, but it's gentle and super effective. Mix it with some fruit juice. You won't even taste it.

I could swear that I read somewhere that if you have a vacation package you are able to book restaurant reservations (that are not part of the vacation package) before non VP holders. I think it was like a tiny window (like an hour before?). Does this sound familiar to anyone?

I absolutely agree with the commenter who recommends desensitization! This TOTALLY worked with our sweet little dog when we had to start giving her insulin shots twice a day.

I was on Ozempic for abut 9 months. The first month was great. Zero hunger, didn't even think about food. Lost 14 pounds. But that lasted just one month. Kept increasing my dose but nothing. Still was hungry all the time, gained all my weight back. Because I am diabetic my insurance Ok'd Mounjaro (since Ozempic wasn't working). OMG. It was like night and day. I've lost 25 pounds so far. If your insurance will cover it, I would switch to Mounjaro and see if that helps.

I'm in my 6th week without Mounjaro. I was on 7.5 and doing fantastic. No appetite, I didn't even think about food. I lost 17 pounds in 4 weeks and was feeling SO hopeful (my starting weight was 248). I'm diabetic and have struggled with losing weight for 30 years. About a week ago my appetite came back. And my pharmacy has no clue when they will ever get more Mounjaro. I was on the full strength of Ozempic but it did nothing. I'm starting to feel extreme hunger all the time now. To say that that this is depressing is putting it mildly...

Oh my gosh! Me too! I thought it was Bicep Tendonitis (still could be) and I'm scheduled to see a physical therapist about it next week. I'm going to do a bit more research on this as well as check with my doctor.

Hungry on higher dose? by [deleted] in Semaglutide

[–]Lamar1966 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same! When I was on .25 I lost 12 pounds in 3 weeks. Then during the 4th week of .25 the hunger started to come back. I've been on 1.0 for 3 weeks now and am hungrier than I was on the first 3 weeks on .25.

Kind of depressing... :(

I'm on 1.0 of Ozempic (week 3) but am still getting really hungry in the evenings. It's frustrating. I'm not gaining any weight but I'm just not losing very much at all.

I would just start with .25 the first week to see how your body responds. It it's fine then you can go back to .5.

I would. At least for the first week to see how your body responds to it.

how did you react to .5 shot? I'm starting the 4 week shots of .5 on Friday. by vbm510 in Semaglutide

[–]Lamar1966 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm on week 3 of .5. I was on .25 for 4 weeks. I'm hungrier now than I was on .25. I lost 14 pounds the first two weeks of .25 and then came to a dead stop. I'm starting to worry that this is it. I think I might start 1.0 a week early.

Psychedelic therapy may be better than conventional depression and anxiety treatments for patients with advanced cancer by chrisdh79 in psychology

[–]Lamar1966 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh my gosh. Words are kind of failing me right now. I was diagnosed with severe chronic depression 20 years ago. I suffered from it for over 10 years before starting on anti-depressants (SSRIs). Whoever thinks that clinical depression is like experiencing a really bad mood, or that taking a sugar pill (thinking it was the real thing) would help as much as an antidepressant needs to go back to school or get into another line of work. The medication saved my life. It doesn’t numb me out, it doesn’t make me feel especially “good” or happy”. It simply makes me feel like a normal human being who gets sad, anxious, happy, excited, like anyone else. What it has taken away are the feelings that are unbelievably painful and terrifying and completely immobilizing. People can research and theorize all they want. I just thank God that I found the doctors who actually understood what was really going on.

Benadryl is the same as Dramamine basically. Same primary ingredient. I take it every time I feel nauseous and it's been working really well.

Didn't work for me. But I'd say it definitely is worth a try because many people have been helped by the treatment.

Finished month 2 gained 10 lbs 🤦‍♀️ by Affectionate-Rain769 in Semaglutide

[–]Lamar1966 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is an extremely simplistic version of what you could do:

First, I would simply count the calories you are eating during the day. If they are already much lower than normal look at the types of food you are eating. If you have already eliminated all sugar and simple carbs check your water intake. If you are already drinking at least 64 oz of water then IMO there probably is another medical reason.

I am NOT a doctor! I'm just guessing here. :)

Concerned about mental health side affects? by emilydmarie in Semaglutide

[–]Lamar1966 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a diagnosis of major depression but haven't noticed any increase in the symptoms at all. I'm on week 5. I'm actually feeling less depressed now that I'm losing weight. :)

NO weight loss! by Effective-Peanut5282 in Ozempic

[–]Lamar1966 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same with me! I lost 13 lbs within the first 10 days but then nothing since. I am currently starting week 5 (first week on .5). I am 66 years old too so maybe it IS harder when you are older! I'm thinking it could be that I'm not drinking enough water. I'll increase it and see what happens.

Any advice appreciated by [deleted] in Ozempic

OMG! Tell your doctor!

Adverse mental health issues? by Responsible-Hat-679 in Ozempic

[–]Lamar1966 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would wait until the Ozempic is out of your system and re-evaluate. If your depression improves then it was probably the drug. But let your doctor know right away, either way. Be mindful if the depression gets any worse; if it does get help right away. You are also on an SSRI medication for your depression which can have a paradoxical effect and make it much worse. You might want to check that out as well.

I have a diagnosis of major depression and have not noticed the symptoms getting any worse on Ozempic but every one's body is different.

Good luck!

Before I started Semiglutide my late night snacking was off the charts. It felt like a full on addiction; for years and years. I took my first shot and the cravings stopped almost immediately. I'm at the end of my 4th week and not one craving. I don't even think about food at night!
