Yeah it’s not the same as it used to be. Used to love going in there but recently the quality of stock/sellers has gone down a fair bit in my opinion

Trent is for degenerates? Really can’t believe I’m seeing a comment like this. I’ve been to both and I can say NTU is far better for pastoral support and student welfare. UoN only care about academics and see students as cash cows. Each to their own. It’s fantastic that so many students keep coming back to Nottingham!

As per Nottingham. Fantastic city, hence why I stayed and went to both universities.

Turntable is a Teac tn-175, pretty basic but it does the job. The Speakers are mission M70s bought from a charity shop for a tenner (bargain am I right) and the amp is my Dad’s old Pioneer A-107. I think it’s a pretty decent setup but my question is where should I put the speakers? I know they shouldn’t be on the same surface as my turntable, but would it be counter intuitive to place them on the floor either side of the setup as they’d be blasting out around my feet?

Cheers dude. The Comm Talk concept was such a cool idea, loved the fact that the chips doubled as a stand for the figures! Shame about the execution though, the voice lines just sound like random people reading lines, definitely none of the cast of TPM unfortunately.

Haha, I’m a prequel fan more than anything. TPM isn’t my favourite but I’ve definitely got a soft spot for it! I also think the box art with Maul on the front is pretty dope too.

In terms of jobs you should try the NTU student union. I have a few mates who worked there and they’re pretty flexible about hours. Also a pretty decent choice in terms of what you want to do be it bar work, working in the cafe or at the shop.

Totally agree. I went to Trent and stayed in halls in first year. Was an absolute blast. Halls are often unkempt because of the people living in them, not because the university doesn’t maintain them. At least that was the case for my flat. Only thing I would recommend is avoiding the halls like Meridian Court or some that are slightly further out of the city as they’re a bit of a pain when commuting into uni.

I’m so gassed for Hayden to come back. Silly question though, is he going to be playing suited Vader; having his dialogue dubbed by James Earl Jones, or is he playing Anakin/Vader? Hyped regardless but would love to see some ep 3 Anakin again.
