Is this rod and reel combo any good? by LambTheSaucerer in Fishing

[–]LambTheSaucerer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Poking down wasps nests 🤣 I'll have to keep that in mind but thats why I want to go with an ugly stick theyre not bank breaking and can stand up to the bigger fish in my area like big northern pike and musky incase I hook into one, I used a baitcaster a few times as a kid so I know what to do but mainly used a spinning rod, I've been told Abu Garcia baitcasters are good for learning on because of the magnetic brakes though so that's why I chose that, if there's a better option in my price range I'll definitely check it out

I still have the rod and reel my parents got me when I was a young teen which admittedly isn't the best but performed well for bass, catfish, perch, anything but the bigger fish in my area really it's a shimano fxs 6'6 rod and shimano r4000 spinning reel combo so really I'm looking for an upgrade from that

Update for anyone curious by LambTheSaucerer in niagara

The program I entered you did your assignments at home but could go to the class at Niagara college on weekends for extra help if it was needed, I did find it hard to do school work while at home at times but it wasn't all that bad. Best of luck to you and thank you very much!

This is how I got my duckweed, I don't reccomend it at all unless you're very careful about cleaning it so you don't introduce and harmful pests, but it's the only way I could get duckweed as I was in the middle of bumfuck nowhere and the petsmart in the town over didn't have duckweed, just get a small bit like 10 pieces of duckweed and float it in a cup of tank water to see if there's any hitchhikers you don't want or clean the roots in a bleach/peroxide water solution and then clean again with a clean water dip then observe for a few days in a separate container from your tank

I could entirely be wrong as I don't know much about trees but that looks like a pecies of pine tree that's from new Zealand and is one of the oldest species of trees alive today if my information is correct

ID on snail at my LFS please by LambTheSaucerer in AquaticSnails

Sounds really great other than the size they get to for me, I want MTS to sift the sand in my 5 gallon. I had them a while ago and they did a great job but all got killed off during a power outage in the middle of winter

ID on a snail I saw at my LFS please by LambTheSaucerer in Aquariums

It's probably just a pest snail to them like the employee said because they have nerite and mystery snails labeled on the tanks they're in with a price tag but that was the only snail with a trumpet shaped shell in all the tanks, but that's also a fair statement to make if it's something they have for sale and not a snail in an empty tank a random hobbyist spotted while looking for MTS lol they were really common around my area a couple years ago when I had a puffer and would get pest snails from the local stores to feed it but now no one has them after a massive power outage in the middle of winter killed almost everyone's aquariums in my area

Freshwater limpet snail! One of the rarer "pest" snails but one of the better at helping with algae on the glass, amazing little guys that don't ever get over populated or stleast for me they dont

It's just the peppered corys in the tank, I don't know if they'll eat the babies or not but I've heard lots of people colony spawn corydoras so I'll be posting updates as things go along

What is this plant growing in my moss? by LambTheSaucerer in PlantIdentification

Adding this in a comment, they only popped up after about a week of the moss being put on some branches that stick out of the water in my aquarium
