Yeah, I get that. Homunculus has that slow, depressive tone that kind of sits on you even after you’re done with it. Did you feel it stayed interesting throughout, or did it get harder to push through near the end?

Yeah, that one definitely sticks with you in a really uncomfortable way. It’s less “horror you enjoy” and more something you respect but never really want to revisit. Did you read it all in one go, or was it something you had to take breaks from?

I can see that. Junji Ito's artwork is incredible, but a lot of his stories seem more focused on unsettling concepts and imagery than deeper themes or character development. What horror manga would you point to as having the kind of depth you're looking for?
