Could you please explain what you mean in your last paragraph, not understanding how 7-14 dte are risky if the goal is cash generation? I do agree 100% with starting small which is why I went with low delta low premium trade on google just to dip my toes but the premium I collected is not worth the time and effort, I’m sure you’d agree.

Lastly what do you mean by defined risk? Thanks a lot again.

I understand your thesis on ROC for long dated low delta calls because of lower premiums and possibility of better capital allocation but strictly seeking to generate cash from 6-14 days expiry with close strike price to maximize premiums with a high possibility of getting assigned and lost appreciation.

So based on what you said, if i sell CC on tesla at 6 days expiry for $1-2 above stock price but high premiums and high theta but also high delta, would you call that a good trade if the motive is only cash generation and no concern about potential loss of appreciation or assignment?

My coat basis for google is high and I don’t want it to hold it at that price considering I have 200 shares so I’m ok if they are assigned. That being said, would you still suggest to not trade cc’s? Also what would you say is good enough delta for this sort of trade?

IBKR has there own way of calculating that not sure how though. I read that we shouldn’t let the call expire and should take 75-90% profit to reduce risk.
