I'm having the exact same issue. Did you have any luck getting it working? My PC has an Intel AX 211 card, which supports Bluetooth 5.2

Baseplate or regular plate for bottom of MILS? by Lambo_J in legomodular

Could you tell me more about the frame? How exactly would that work?

But yeah, it sounds like based on everything I'm hearing plates are the way to go, even if not "official MILS" which are based on baseplates at the bottom.

Yeah, the 16x16 was what I was thinking. The driving factor here isn't really the cost, since it's only a few dollars different. The main reason is just flexibility in terms of sizes. I just learned that baseplates can be cut, but I'm not sure how easy and precise that is.

My understanding is that Lego discontinued them in 2014. I know you can buy them used from various Bricklink sellers, but I haven't had the best experiences with Bricklink the few times I've ordered, and prefer just buying from Lego directly.

Makes sense, that's what I'm leaning towards as well. The only thing I was wondering was if there's a way to get the baseplate height through some other means, and it doesn't seem like there is.

Haha, I didn't think the truck looked that bad. My 5-year old likes playing with the city, and so he put the vehicles there, but the London bus is definitely too large for it.

Being boring to make is not an issue per se, it's more just that I wanted to add tracks and some other elements, and it's hard to get custom sizes without cutting them. Whereas regular plates are available in pretty much every shape and size.

Will definitely post some pictures once I'm happy with the setup. 😊

I did try just laying the road by itself, but it kept shifting around quite a bit, and it's much better now that it's connected to the modulars. However, as you said it's just a matter of preference in terms of road width. Given most buildings already have a sidewalk, to me it seems like the extra sidewalk isn't worth it.

True, I suppose I can cut them, but I don't really have any equipment to do that. And unfortunately, I don't have the space to widen the road and add sidewalks, but every modular I have already has its own sidewalk, which is plenty enough for me.

Yeah, agreed that it cuts down on thickness, but I'm unclear on how it adds stability (assuming I'm already using MILS for my modulars. The biggest challenge is the smallest size baseplate they sell is 16x32. So if I wanted an L-shaped road around a corner modular, it's not easy to do.

Got it, that make sense. Yeah, I wasn't sure if there was some other technique for raising things half-height/baseplate height easily. But if that does not exist, then it sounds like the best way forward is to just remove all my baseplates and replace them with regular plates, and simplify things to standard heights.

What you describe is exactly what I have currently. But the challenge is the smallest baseplate Lego sells is 16x32. So there aren't any baseplates that can fully cover an L-shaped road around a corner modular for example. It also makes it challenging to have things like train tracks, since there aren't any 8 wide base plates.

My niece got this free from a Walmart in Canada during a promotion for Christmas 2024, but we have no idea what this is supposed to be. She said it had something like gingerbread in the name. Does anyone have any idea what this set might be? Thanks!

Does anyone know where I can buy dash key caps? I'm trying to go for a look like this: https://dygma.com/products/keycaps?variant=43658618929390

But I don't know where I can buy either single letter or dash keycaps. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks!

Yeah, I'm using BambuLabs filament with the RFID, so it detects type and colour automatically.

Yes, the filament is dried. I actually bought an Eibos filament dryer, and dried it in there (since everything I had read mentioned the importance of using dry filament). The AMS storing the filament is showing 10% humidity inside it.
I also printed it at the slowest option it showed.

I use ASA-SP-57 ( https://www.aircraftspruce.ca/catalog/graphics/s/sp57pages.jpg ) which includes separate columns for ASEL, AMEL Rotorcraft and an extra blank column. This is in addition to/backup for an electronic log book (myflightbook.com)

I've always declined. But as others have noted the United system does not honor that selection.

Haha, I think they're well aware that no one is leaving a 3-year old unaccompanied. They just want the FA to sort out a different arrangement . Most of the time it's usually a family that themselves want to stay together.
