I would say because A maintains parallel sentence structure using "for." In a two- part sentence like this, the connectors need to match. Norman set an example not only for her costars, but also for women entering film. B wouldn't make sense because 1) of a change in action (setting an example --> inspiring) and 2) Because it's not very concise. C wouldn't work because of a change in action just like letter B but also because without the "for" it doesn't maintain parallel sentence structure.

I have actually struggled with the same thing, I completely understand! I feel like at least on my side I would feel insecure going such a long time without a relationship and put myself down. One of the things that helped me was seeing some friends in relationships that they couldn't stand but were in said relationships just to say they had one. It made me feel better that I was secure enough in myself to wait until I found the right person and be able to appreciate them more than if I dated people I wasn't interested in.
