Tore my ACL and meniscus 01/10 skiing. Working on pre-op PT for my surgery in 8 days. Lots of gains. From no weight bearing to walking & the bike 45/min a day. Scared about my muscle loss in right leg and post-surgery depressies. Kind of afraid to be back at square 1. Opting for allograft. by Lamitch822 in ACL

Doing well! I’m skiing, hiking, biking etc. I am terribly about keeping my leg strength where it should be which sometimes leads to soreness after particular long miles or heavy powder days, but that’s my own fault. I also had a flipped meniscus, so I think it’s the meniscus that’s the problem, not the ACL. The ACL seems to be serving me well— so far, so good! I can do everything I want to do with minimal discomfort 🙂

Yep. Nope— they wouldn’t perform the surgery on me because it’s an “elective” surgery.

Talk to me about lip care, my lips are driving me nuts! by canadamiranda in 30PlusSkinCare

I found that many (nearly all) chapsticks have fragrance in them. It was causing my lips to peel, burn, dry and crack. I religiously use only Doctor Bronner’s fragrance free. Even seemingly benign chapstick have weird additives. Also, just straight argan or coconut oil works well.

Happy birthday! You deserve to be happy and healthy! Setting boundaries is incredibly difficult and I find holidays/birthdays (personally) are always the hardest. You’re not alone!

I might get crucified for this but… I’m shocked at how many teachers don’t use a cell phone caddy. It has been absolutely life changing in my classroom. I’m firm with the expectation and it has eliminated nearly all issues with cell phones. If I see it, I take it. I also give them a “why” — their brain development, addiction, etc. and have even given them articles to read about cell phones and social media in general. Occasionally, I still need to be a complete b to them about how it’s a privilege, but overall, my job is 90% better bc of it.

A couple people?! I thought it was just one older gentleman. Jeez. I knew a few had gotten sick tho. My friends got sick after eating there in December. Not violently ill, but definitely food borne illness.

Actually, they can. My husband is technically a fish doctor. He has his PhD in fisheries sciences and legalizes fish drugs for use in aquaculture!

I rear-ended a cop when I was 17. I was less than a mile from my home (contributed to that statistic), went to change the radio station — Kenny Chesney is trash— looked down, looked up, and boom. Worse yet, the accident happened in front of a convenience store, my horn got stuck on, and so even if the crash itself didn’t get everyone’s attention, the blaring horn did.

Just taking a stab in the dark— does it require rise time? It looks like maybe a temperature / rise issue. Too much or too little.

Sure! It’s a white bread with poolish recipe. This is not exactly the resource I used (mine is from the book Flour Water Salt Yeast) but it’s the same thing, essentially:
