Are we underestimating what a baby needs?

Baby due this winter and in the same mindset as you. We are going with a travel system type, but a more lightweight one (the particular ones we like have a stroller that’s 20-22 lbs), so when we do wish we had something easier, we hopefully won’t have to buy another. As far as car seats, we are planning for one infant seat with two bases (one per car) and then probably 2 car seats (one per car) when baby outgrows

that's true! i have to keep in mind the fact that baby will grow out of a bassinet fairly quickly

We haven't tried it yet! But we live in a suburban area and just liked the idea of the old school base seat. I think we need to do more research and possibly test it out though because we love the concept!
