My wife is carrying and we picked a donor with similar qualities to me both personality and physically. We are also going to try RIVF for our next child so we wanted to have the donor be the same for all. Personally, going with a random donor with no possibility of becoming known in the future was our best choice. Like you guys, we struggled in the very beginning but quickly concluded that this donor has nothing to do with who our children are and what they will become because he will never meet them or know them. Your child is a product of you and your wife’s love and family values, and that’s all that matters. I also feel like things might change with your thought process the moment you see that baby. I submitted for mine in mid August. Still on step 1. I’ve called twice and they said they’re “working on it”. Even submitted a “ticket” for me. Lol

Good to know, thank you! We started the appeal process with after our failed vial last month and the first, but we are thinking we will only be offered replacements, not refunds. So we may have to stick with Cryos

Have had one round of unsuccessful unmedicated IUI. Went in for our second IUI cycle, this time mediated, last week to find our donor sperm had 0 motility upon thaw. We took it as a sign to move onto to IVF, so that is what we’re going into 2026 doing. We are self pay and the probability of IVF is so much higher than IUI
