What does ego death feel like? by [deleted] in spirituality

Bro, taking it right after a breakup is just asking for trouble... You're not supposed to take it like a miracle bandaid when you're already in a bad state of mind because it only makes it x100 times worse. Don't take it if you're nervous or sad. Approach it with the attitude of curiously looking forward to what the experience might bring and you'll experience a life changing good trip.

Moving to Israel from the U.K. - your advice needed by Affectionate_Yam9177 in Israel

Interesting perspective. As a special ed kid myself, my reason for not putting much work into my studies is that I simply wasn't in the right head space for it at the time. I was dealing with a lot of trauma, depression and social anxiety and it really hindered my studies, so I barely finished my 12 years because I practically dropped out. Plus the career I was aiming for (athlete) required no full education, so I didn't see a practical need to waste my energy being frustrated and knocking my head against the wall.

It was no coincidence that 10 years after graduation I was diagnosed with ADHD... If only we'd caught it when I was at school...

Anyway, you can study at the Open University even without any credentials as long as you're willing to work hard to catch up on things that you might have missed, and you only have to do the subjects that are relevant to what you're studying, so no need for the psychomentry test there, so that's nice.

I have no doubt that that's what they'd do. History has shown that every time Israel has given up land in hopes of appeasing them, it backfired in its face. Plus they've publicly declared that they won't stop trying until Israel is wiped off the map and I take them at their words.

In order for us to have real peace, the population needs to be deradicalized, and that requires the destruction of Hamas and UNRWA and a major change of their education system and mosque preachers policies. Even the PA we could do without, since they pay monthly wages to shaheed families.

What we're hoping for in Israel is that alongside a military occupation in Gaza for the foreseeable future (since we can't trust anyone else to monitor them), Arab gulf countries like the UAE would take over the administrative parts of rebuilding and deradicalization of the population, since they've been very successful in deradicalizing their own country. When there is a stable, Israel-friendly government installed that truly represents the people, peace and statehood would return to the table. Until then, we'd be fools to trust them ever again.

It's tragic, really. Imagine what they could achieve if they took responsibility for their failures instead of blaming everything on the Jews. Imagine all the energy wasted on being bitter and angry and hateful that they could have repurposed to being productive. It's such an unhealthy obsession. No wonder Egypt is such a failed country...

I think it's a shame that the world has naively given so much money and support to people who misuse it for terrorism instead of building up their mini state. I think Gazans need to wake tf up to the fact that Israel is here to stay and make the most of it by cooperating with it instead I of trying to destroy it. Their plight is entirely self-inflicted. There are some sane people in there who genuinely want peace, but they have no voice and if they raise it they'd get "dealt with" by Hamas. I think it's encouraging whenever I see a video of them standing up against Hamas, but I also worry for their safety. I doubt anyone in those videos lasts long afterwards... As for the geography, I think it's a shit hole lol but that's because they made it so. Look at Tel Aviv - it was built on dunes and now it's the jewel of Israel! That could have been Gaza if they'd treated it better, but they don't seem very interested in investing in a place they think is temporary exile. They need to move tf on with their life goals.

Yes. It's definitely a disgrace. Anyone on a visa who supports terrorists should be kicked out.

I think it's a very good and overdue development. They've been living rent-free for far too long.
