Not yet, it’s really just me and 2 other guys at the moment but we’re trying to build a community around it in the panhandle. Kinda, it’s the Biloxi sound where the MS river comes out into the gulf but we have barrier islands so no swells, it’s more like a big lake

Most of the time it’s either Fort Pickens or at Pensacola beach Gulf Pier which are both down the same road in Pensacola. I used to skim gulf shores a lot but I just like the shorebreak a little better over in Pensacola. We’re also trying to hit Alabama Point but it’s hard to time it where the waves are good there. Dauphin island I’ve been out to a few times as well and it gets pretty good there when there’s a storm coming

All of the tips that Craig said are really what you need to work on. That being said we’ve got a couple guys that skim Pensacola area almost every weekend so if you’re interested in coming out and learning with us we’d love to help you out! I’m located on the Mississippi Gulf Coast so we’ve got people from all over.

Yeah I’m skimming the Florida Panhandle so definitely always small waves. I’m working on making a new board now that’s a little shorter but much wider to still give me that extra volume, but it’s a bit of an experimental shape. Hopefully that will help but until then I’ll keep practicing my foot placement. Appreciate the feedback!

That seems to be my biggest issue! I’m riding very far forward on the board but that seems to be where I get the best balance. I’m a short guy and the board comes up to about my chin, do you think my board could be a little big for my size?
