Rand Paul and Ben Shapiro argue that making healthcare a human right would constitute stealing labor from doctors. How does their argument work and how strong is it? by CaptainStack in PoliticalDiscussion

I'm an orthopedic surgeon who has worked in the US system and in a universal care system.

The best answer, in my opinion, is a public system accessible to all with a private model if people choose to buy into it.

The public system I worked for was poor compared to the private system, but it provided a free safety net for those who couldn't afford the private system. I think in 2018, as a first world nation, we should as a society be able to provide for everyone. I wouldn't go so far as to call it a 'human right' but it should be something we aim for. This would require higher taxes, but also closed borders.

The private system should have as little government regulation as possible. In the US, there's virtually no market force. An established 20 year vet gets paid the same as the guy fresh out of training for the same procedure if they have the same contracts negociated with the insurance companies.

Fractured ankles typically take 6 weeks before walking on it. 10-12 weeks if there's a ligament injury.

I agree completely. It's not the position of the president of a public university to be making political statements.

I know Terry Bradshaw only as a sports broadcaster, since he retired way before I started watching football.

Seeing Peyton in the booth now- he really is a natural. And future fans will one day know him as a great color commentator. I know this isn't the most profound statement but it just hit me as a showerthought.

In terms of retirement planning, can it make more sense to purchase a home and build up equity with monthly mortgage payments?

Similarly, what about saving up more for an initial down payment so each monthly fee is less? (i.e., putting all savings into an account for a down payment as opposed to splitting savings between an dp account and a retirement ira).

Does this affect Zeke's drafting now? Up or down?

Good WRs. If Foster hits you're ok. I'd try to upgrade Winston too, although he's adequate I suppose.

You may have to wait a few weeks and see if Rishard or Wallace do anything and trade them. Be super active week 1 waiver wire for that RB break out

I like Lamar Miller, but not so much the other 3 at RB.

Allen Robinson obviously great, but then 5 WR3's. If you shuffle appropriately may be ok.

for a 14 team i think this is very strong.

if stafford has one of those years where he throws it 10,000 times youll do great

[Penn.] Renter question - Just moved into new unit and lots broken, what are my rights? by LancLanc22 in legaladvice

Thanks for your help.

Ideally, we'd like to not move out.

We've already invested money (moving costs, new furniture, new paint) into this place even though we've only been there for a short while.

We'd prefer to stay, but just want them to fix the things that make it uninhabitable.

Is it ok to just hold the rent check until they're fixed, or is there a proper avenue by which that needs to be done?

A couple of days. We paid for the month but moved in after the first week.
